Answer:
Not easily. You'd have to build an entire frame that hangs off one of the sides. There's no "natural" place for monkey bars to go.

You may add monkey bars off the left hand side at the rear of the unit. The correct monkey bars must be the 112 model. The 4x4x70” Monkey Bar Support beam in the 112 kit will have to be cut down to 34” to attach it to the rear and middle corner posts. Once this is done, the monkey bar support beam must be re-drilled with a counter-bored hole and through hole on the cut off end. Stain should be applied to the cut end of the board and the sharp corners of the cut board should be sanded or rounded over with a router if available.
The monkey bars will attach to the unit about 2” lower than on most of our other sets because of the 2x6 arched board above the ladder. That board forces the 4x4 monkey bar support down an extra 2”, which may require digging in the monkey bar ladder legs. Please see pages 92-93 (pgs 98/99 of the pdf file) in the Navigator instructions (which can be found here: http://dealers.gorillaplaysets.com/assets/assets/manuals/playsets/nantucket-manual.pdf) for details about how the monkey bar support mounts to the play set.

Customer Reviews

Treasure Trove with Timber Shield Cedar Playset is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product and design, poor customer service As others have mentioned, the Manual was clearly written by several different people who had competing ideas about how to best do it. The result is a confusing hodgepodge of guesswork. For example, the manual goes to great lengths to tell you about how they label the wood. The first number is the length, then the width then a special code indicating what it's for (SBR = Side Board Right). Well, that's great. Unfortunately, only in the inventory list is it referred to this way. The instructions do NOT refer to the wood this way. What's the point of going through that organizational exercise if you aren't going to actually use those labels where they matter? The inventory list is also divided up per "box". Which is fine if you are doing a general inventory, but stinks when you are actually building the thing and have to hunt through all the inventory pages to find which box the wood is in. There were several spots too where the measurements for wood used for a specific instruction were just flat out wrong. There was no wood with that size and even if there was it wouldn't make sense to use it there. Or holes pre-drilled that the manual referred to that weren't pre-drilled. I called customer service to confirm these mistakes, but never got a call back and just went ahead anyway. And that's assuming you are lucky enough for your wood to be labeled at all. I would estimate about 20% of the lumber I received had no label at all, so I had to measure and mark it all my self. And they give you THOUSANDS of pieces of hardware (screws, nuts, bolts etc) so trying to figure out if you have everything beforehand is a crazy project (we didn't have all the hardware so had to ask for extra). They also sent me the wrong piece for the main structures foundation (got 2 left side pieces and no right side). I explained this to their customer service department several times and they sent me replacements each time. Unfortunately, the replacements sent were the SAME WRONG PIECES I ALREADY HAD. Twice. And a week+ each time. I finally gave up and countersunk my own holes so I could use the wrong pieces. For my inconvenience, I asked that customer service send me their stain since lots of the wood received had minimal or no staining on it. I know you are supposed to re-stain within 90 days, but I expect the set I purchased for thousands of dollars to be sufficiently pre-stained so that I can actually wait 90 days before doing it again. Well, they sent me stain. Exactly 2 ounces of it. Have they seen the size of this thing? When I asked why I received a small, unmarked bottle of what I assume is stain for 1 piece of wood, they said they unfortunately can't send me their gallon bottle for free. At that point I gave up on their customer service. If they don't care about customers who spend thousands of dollars and wont send a gallon of stain to appease someone they sent incorrect parts to 3 times, then they simply don't care. Now that the headaches are all over, I do like the playset. It is well designed, nice looking, and my kids love it. However, I'd probably recommend a different manufacturer to a friend if they were doing something similar to avoid the trouble. Some of the wood does appear to have some molding on it. Luckily for me, those pieces were all roof pieces that they give you extra of (I assume because some will be damaged or molding?). I hope this isn't an issue next season. I'll update my review next spring.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mold!!! After just a couple of months! I would definitely not recommend this to anyone! We had it installed in November 2015. It is now February 2016. We've had only a handful amount of snow storms. It gets the morning sun until about 3pm (until summer comes!). There is mold on the wood everywhere! Everywhere. Huge disappointment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what we expected As other reviewers have stated, the wood is not sorted or clearly labeled. They have small white papers stapled on the end with the measurements. Well some are 1/4-1/5" difference. Talk about confusing. And they couldn't bother to label parts A with hardware #16. It's all about finding the exact measurement piece with hardware which was also not labeled as well. I had the sense to sort and label the hardware by size and page which made things easier but the instructions are black and white so we still had issues. It was the worst build I've ever done. 4 days with two people and we're still not done. We skipped cosmetics to get re structure done so my son can play on it. The playset is large, but I have a lot of complaints. The tube slide is one. Beside being a beast to assemble, the joints are in a way you slide over them going down which I found painful but my son didn't seem to mind. They should fix it so no joints run under you when you slide. Also the timber shield is a joke. What's crazy is I bought this with the promise 'no sanding, no staining needed' and I have 3 pages that came with the set saying it needs stained in 90 days. Wth? And the timber shield has peeled and been scuffed off in sections. So the wood is different colors. My absolute one biggest complaint is the cross bars. If you check the picture you can see the kids have to constantly duck under the bars to go platform to platform. When my son wants to go to the rickety bridge he ducks once, then another to get off, and once more to go down the wave slide. So I of course had imagined my son running across the playset and zooming down the slide. Well you can't. And he's cracked his head multiple times now due to poor supports placement. I have a feeling we will be removing those. We reached a point building this where close enough became our mantra. It was impossible to get it 100% level and square. And when we did that anyway the swing beam pulled it off level. It's been an uphill battle. I don't know if I'd purchase again, and faced with the idea of disassembling and packing everything back at the chance of a return we decided to keep it. But the ad is very misleading. So be prepared for a week installation, staining, poor instructions, and bumped heads. Especially if you have the wood roof which we got. I continue to crack my head every time my son asks me to climb up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Quality - Poor Instruction Manual The QUALITY of the Gorilla Treasure Trove set is great. I had another set that blew over during Hurricane Sandy, and you can immediately see & feel the difference in quality - Gorilla set is definitely nicer. BUT, I had issues with the following: - Delivery - UPS Freight called me & told me they are ready to deliver it, but the box weighs 1400 lbs and I need to be there to HELP get it off the truck!!??!! So, if you get the same message from them - push back! Customers do not need to touch the box until it is offloaded from the truck and and you sign for it after inspecting for damages. - Damage to the wood - Even though the box they were in was not damaged, some of the wood was cracked, dinged, chipped, etc. Not surprising, but not happy about the cracked wood making it through the inspection process at the factory. Also, one of the green plastic wrapped columns showed up split from top to bottom. The plastic wrapper looked sliced on one fo the corners - from top to bottom. - Installation Manual- I came across this before with a set which was half the price & quality of the Gorilla set. There are pages in the manual which give you a complete inventory of the pieces in the boxes. The inventory includes two key pieces fo information The dimensions of the wood piece AND the part # - Great. now, when you go to install the pieces together, the installation manual only tells you to select the wood by dimension - it leaves off the part number!!! So, what happens is that you now have to measure EVRY PIECE OF WOOD and mark it! Why not include the part # in the instrcutions??? The part numbers are stapled to each piece of wood - why not say "bolt part number 5004 to part # 8210"? instead they tell you to attached the piece which is 5/4" x 3 1/8" x 70" to the wood that is 4" x 2 1/8" x 21 7/16" - WHY??? This made the whole installation go SO MUCH SLOWER than necessary!! until they fix this approach, you MUST do a complete inventory of wood, mark all the pieces and then slowly figure out each piece to install them together correctly. Also, the drawings were sometimes not correct. Meaning, they left out some steps. The drawing showed a piece of wood that appeared out of nowhere - with no indication of what part number or dimension it is, but it is magically there on the next page in the drawing and you need to attach a part to it!! "Wait, where did that come from and what part is it?? Where did that part come from?" Also, you will get several boxes. Each box is labelled with what part of the play set it contains - e.g. Upper Roof, Lower Roof, Clatter Bridge, etc. BUT, sometimes a part you need for the clatter bridge might be found in one of the other boxes! You have to fish around for the part - based on dimensions!! Talk about needle in a haystack! It took me and a pro 2 full days to assemble the Treasure trove. The kids love it! It is a very nice set - but the simple things I highglighted would go a long way towards making the customer happier. This thiing could have been assembled in 1 day easily, if only they did a better job labelling and matching the instructions to reality better. Even the process to install the tube slide will be very frustrating - trust me. The guy I assembled this with installs commercial plaset for a living in various municipalities. He is no idiot, and neither am I. It can be a frsutrating experience. Luckily, it's a one time pain, and your kids will love you forever! Gorilla - please heed my suggestions above!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Happy First off, I think it's terrible you don't offer assembly to all customers. My area was unfortunately one of your locations that don't have this option. After 3 attempts to find someone to put the swingset together we finally found someone through Gorillas website. The first guy quit because he said the instructions were terrible and the parts were not labeled. He was a professional who puts swing sets together for a living! Once we found someone recommended by Gorilla it still wasn't a smooth experience. There were several parts missing!! This company came from another state to put our swing set together so we did not have time to contact Gorilla or Home Depot to get the parts. We had to go out and buy $100 worth of missing screws, nuts and bolts ourselves!! Very frustrating after spending so much on the swing set itself. Now, not even a week after it was assembled, the wood is peeling and molding!!!!! I am so disappointed! I did research before making my purchase and was under the impression that Gorilla was the best you could buy in this price range. Complete disappointment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional fit and finish Great product, fit and finish is exceptional. Product quality is outstanding and everything fit together perfectly, which is amazing considering the size and complexity of this thing. That said, I made sure I was square, level and plumb at every step. The build would have quickly become a nightmare had I not done this. I was expecting a far longer build time because of some of the other reviews, but if you plan and layout all the components keeping like items together, it goes quickly. I built this monster by myself over the weekend. I unpacked all the boxes Friday night and laid everything out (took about 3 hours) and then spent 9 hrs Saturday and 8 hrs Sunday building. So all totaled unpack, prep and build took 20 hours. If I had someone helping me I probably could have got it done in 15 hours. By the way, it takes some engineering ingenuity to build this by yourself. Assembling the main structure was tricky without an extra set of hands. I had a couple heavy duty cordless power drills with extra batteries for all the screws, nuts and bolts. If you use a hand socket wrench I could see the build time doubling. So the cordless drills are well worth the investment. All that said, the kids love it. We have 5 children ages 4 to 10 and they cannot keep off of it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from great playset...terrible customer service The playset arrived 3 weeks late. Gorilla did not respond to phone calls from myself or home Depot. When the set finally arrived, there were lots of missing bolts and otherhardware. Probably about $50 in hardware we had to buy (even though it was listed as included) and lots of extra stuff that wasn't needed. Get it right, for over $3,000, I shouldn't be missing hardware and the set should arrive on time. Once done, the set is grest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am so pleased with this playset!! The quality is great! We are so happy with this product. All the parts were there and the quality of the wood, etc, were far better than expected. Very sturdy and just looks great! It took time and patience to put together but well worth it! Just a very happy customer! Thanks!
