Answer:
I use them for my realoding supplies and ammunition. I have the unit loaded down quite a bit considering there is a lot of lead in the boxes. They hold the stuff quite easily with no evidence of giving out. There is well over 100# on each shelf. I also have books and magazines on them which are very heavy.

Answer:
Take into consideration it is pressed wood. I would not load it with heavy expensive computer equipment. There are other bookshelves Gorilla makes that would support heavier things. This particular book shelf works best for household items.

Answer:
I do not know the actual weight limit. I use my shelving for food storage. I have 7-8 rows of cans/glass jars 4-5 deep stacked 2 high on the shelf. The itself is very sturdy and has no trouble handling what I am using if for.

I would not recommend it. The frame is really not designed to be moved around. It is sturdier if backed up to a wall.

No, not unless you good with welding equipment and then, only, if the shelf supports are strong enough to hold a weld..

Good question. I asked the same one and called the Gorilla Shelf customer support in So Cal directly. Unfortunately, the answer is no. The units are not manufactured stateside. Like everything else, they are imported from China. That's not the problem. The matter is that they are boxed and bulk shipped as complete units without any extra parts. The distributor did advise that they keep a few units on hand to cannibalize for parts but, that is strictly for warranty replacement. They do not offer additional shelves. Read Less

5-Shelf 30 in. x 12 in. x 60 in. Freestanding Storage Unit-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 115.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally 30" wide quality shelving We bought an older home and are renovating on a tight budget. We wanted to change a storage closet into a pantry; however, most shelving were too big for the small dimensions 33"w x 30"d. Then we found this shelving online AND at a great price, ordered two and used the included connection bolts to create 30"w x 24"d shelving. The units are sturdy and well made. We covered each of the wood shelves with an inexpensive white lace vinyl from the local Wal-Mart fabric department and now it's perfect pantry. Thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shelves. I am giving 5 Stars for Overall Rating because I've seen shelves with over 80 nuts & bolts....so these were really probably much easier then most to put together. I did it alone - would've cut off at least 20 minutes if I had help (total time was one hour). The directions were ridiculous, but just look closely & follow. Just be careful about halfway thru - if you are pounding the top shelf down....make sure the middle shelf stays in place, or it will slide down the rail & you will jam it out of place. Be careful also not to bend any metal when pounding w/ a rubber mallet. I am a female, so it was easy enough for me & I was able to build frame inside, move to garage then put shelves in place. End result is sturdy shelves that look great.....prob get another set to finish organizing my garage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good unit for the price Item comes with no written instructions only pictures but assembly was still easy. I assembled it by myself, but it would be much easier with two. The whole project took less than thirty minutes. As I was assembling it I thought "Why did I buy such a cheap product?" but once the unit was assembled it turned out to be fairly sturdy. I purchased it to go in a downstairs coat closet for our games. Works perfect for that. It was a little top-heavy so I fastened it to the wall. I was afraid our little ones might pull it over while reaching for games on the top shelves. Overall I'm please with the purchase and would recommend it to others.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Correct expectations and I'm satisfied with my purchase Exactly as advertised. Sturdy, clean, and relatively cheap. As long as you have your brain calibrated that you're not getting $500 garage shelves for super cheap then you'll like this purchase. The metal is sturdy, but not perfectly aligned so it requires some torquing when hammering together. It can be done by one person, I did it, but I could definitely see some folks preferring to do this with two people. I live in a cool, Norther coastal environment and I haven't had any issues with the particle board surfaces warping or sagging as some have indicated. The heaviest thing on here is a Kitchen Aid mixer as we use it as a pseudo pantry in the garage for bulk items. We have a very small kitchen. Owned them for about 4 months now and I've actually gone back and bought a second one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value We got this for the garage, for storing stuff that takes up too much pantry room and miscellaneous garage items. The measurements said it would fit between the garage door track and the wall, and the measurements were accurate. That was really my main concern. Additionally, the shelves go together easily and the frame is very sturdy. I was unaware of the different configuration options, which don't apply to our use, but add value to the product. The shelf material itself is pretty thin particleboard. I guess I expected a little better quality there. However, the thickness hasn't been a problem yet- probably because of the sturdy frame and small span of the shelf itself. We may go back and seal the material, either with paint or shelf paper, but it seems to hold weight just fine so far. We haven't, by any mean, maxed out the weight rating, but it seems fine. The shelves don't wobble and fit where we needed them, so we're happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A simple inexpensive solution to a storage problem We have a handsome, enclosed storage cabinet in our garage, but the plastic shelves cannot hold any significant weight without sagging badly. The Gorilla rack unit fits neatly inside the enclosed cabinet, and we can store heavy items on the shelves with out any sagging. We also wired a wire shelf to the top of the Gorilla to create a space for work towels.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flimsy Shelf -- Not what I expected I needed a shallow shelf and this seemed to fit the bill. I am storing motor oils and other automotive products in my garage. I have other larger Gorilla Shelves that are very sturdy and well made and I expected this one to be of similar quality. I was disappointed to find this unit very flimsy. My biggest complaint is the way the top and bottom half assemble together. The top verticals rest on top of the lower verticals along the thickness of the metal -- which is quite thin. The middle shelf hold the verticals aligned on top of each other. With such thin metal, this does not seem too structurally sound. I would NOT recommend these shelves for medium duty applications. I would only use these for the lightest duty applications.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad--should hold up a while under light use. I ordered two sets of these shelves because I needed a somewhat uncommon size, and these fit the bill. It was nice to have the option of assembling them as one set of shelves or two, smaller sets of shelves. They can be connected to each other with small, metal connectors, to help stabilize them. They're not ultra-heavy duty, but they should hold up pretty well for light storage.
