These shelves are exactly as described and are easy to assemble when paying attention to the instructions included and exercising care. In comparison to similar shelves that I purchased long ago, the metal is somewhat "thin" and can be bent, but the thinness does not compromise the strength once all parts are properly assembled, and it is actually a good thing with regard to weight. I purchased two and plan to order two more. The one caution I would add is to take care to not allow the side struts to overlap at the joins; the top strut should be seated squarely atop the bottom one. Good product!

I purchased this because it was the right depth/width that I needed for a very specific space. For something called a "gorilla rack", and costing $70, I expected a lot more. Th unit is serviceable when fully assembled but be careful when putting it together - it flexes and bends with ease and it is way too easy to damage the risers. When together, the unit did not seem entirely "true" and some of the shelves were slightly warped. If it were not such a pain to take apart, box up, and bring back to the store I would return it - but would still need to find something to fit in the space.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by picturelady Great shelf, I would definitely order again.
I ordered 2 of these shelving units to use side-by-side in my basement. I wanted to install them in a narrow space behind my furnace. I have assembled larger Gorilla shelving units before, so I was somewhat familiar with the assembly. I am a woman in my 50's, and I was able to assemble each shelf by myself, in less than an hour. I took a little extra time afterwards to bolt the units to studs in my basement storage area. I would definitely recommend these shelves. They are much stronger than aluminum shelving units which are this depth. Overall, I'm completely pleased.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jake Thin metal, some brackets bent
1) Support for shelving is a ledge on all sides, sagging of the particle board should not become an issue.
2) Construction requires only a rubber mallet.
3) Arrives with connectors to join multiple ones together.
1) Very thin and somewhat soft metal. Bound together so tightly in packaging that some brackets are bent
2) Strong particle board smell
3) Price for quality compared to other available purchases seems of questionable value.
4) Instructions are images only, no words.
Overall I think this is an average piece of shelving.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bossbagger Poor quality for the price
The price of the product would tell you that it is a much better unit then it actually is. The size was right for the space I had which is why I ordered it. Similar quality units can be purchased for less than 1/2 the price. If you don't need this special size then look at a different unit.

I have two set of Gorilla shelves that I bought years ago. I was expecting the same quality from this new purchase and was disappointed that the quality is not the same. The metal pieces arrived bent, which is probably not Gorilla or HD's fault and more the guy in brown, but if they were as high of quality I don't think they would have bent. I bent them back and put the shelves together, but would not buy this again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Karen This product is very weak
We purchased Gorilla shelving from Costco 10 years ago. We thought that the quality would be the same. Believe me it is not. These shelves are very weak, good thing my husband is very handy he was able to strengthen them up. For the normal person these shelves are not what they say they are. Would have taken them back if it wasn't for my husbands engine unity.
