Is this an acceptable screw for 2 X 12 pressure treated pine? It says it is 'coated', but that's not the same a galvanized, right?

I am replacing a 2 x 12 pressure treated wood step off my deck, and want to know if this is the right size/type of screw. to use. I've heard hot dipped galvanized is best, but don't know how this one compares. Also, for a 2 x 12, the actual depth of the lumber is 1.5 in, so is 2 1/2 in the correct length to use? And how about the weight -- is #8 the best? Or is #10 good enough. THANKS!

Answer:
GrabberGard is also ACQ approved for use with pressure treated lumber. We would recommend a 2-1/2” screw length. A #8 or #10 diameter screw really doesn’t matter as long as you are not going into an existing hole. If screwing into an existing hole the exact same screw size or slightly larger would be recommended.
