Years ago, I used this product for a second story walk-out deck. It was installed directly onto plywood with no primer or conditioner. It worked fine for many years, and was no problem at all. People walked on it with shoes on, and there was some deck furniture on it as well. Once it was installed, and the sun hit it. it was impossible to get off. I often thought that it might be nicer to coat it with a white mobile home roof coating, but never bothered to do it. I never had any holes, but you could simply install a patch over any tears. Once this is adhered to the plywood it is like an armor coating. After 10 - 12 years I extended the upstairs out over the deck area, enclosing it. I am now purchasing it to coat a vertical surface of exterior wall (plywood and foam form) that is in accessible when my patio deck is in place against the house. Read Less

Of course, this involved pavers and rollers and trucks loaded with asphalt driving right on the membrane. Usually, 3" of blacktop was placed over this, and then opened to traffic. I'm very confident that It would work fine for your application. You need a clean, dry surface for adhesion, and do not attempt below 50 degrees or so. Read Less

Answer:
Yes, it is designed for use on elevated concrete decks. The substrate should be slightly pitched away from the intersecting wall(s) and a drainage composite should be placed over the waterproofing membrane. The deck-wall intersection is a critical detail, and care should be taken in waterproofing this area. Installation Details can be found next to the product description on the HomeDepot.com website.

Answer:
I believe that it could be, once the wall was washed to remove any flaking and then dried. Of course, it is not going to be very attractive, but I assume that you are trying to solve some other problem and not concerned about cosmetics. The warmer the surface, the better luck you will have getting it to adhere.

This product acts like rubber. Heck it may be some type of rubber. I just use because it is sold with ICF walls and to run down on the footing.
But, to answer your question, yes and know. The product seems to cover difference surface levels if the angle of change is less than about a 45 degree angle. If the taper of angle changes is more than a 45 degree, the material will pull away from the surface when the temperature changes. Also if applied when it is too hot, (70-80+) the membrane will mold pretty well, but as it shrinks, it will pull away when the temperature . Note that the subterranean temp will be between 50 and 58 degrees according to how far the structure is from the equator.
It is good to know that if you use the correct overlap, the product as a whole unit should be pretty water resistant, even if parts don't remain stuck to the surface. The edges of the membrane really adheres to itself very well. But when it pulls away from steep angle changes or irregular shapes, the space will become a void and a great place for moisture pockets.
I personally feel the best choice would be to use a parge or masonry mixture to "feather" the wall more even and permit it to dry a couple days before using this membrane. You can also use a narrow rubber roller to get the best adhesion to the wall. Good luck Read Less

Answer:
I think it can be installed over tar. I installed it on a wall painted with dryloc sealing paint. The film has a very sticky adhesive already applied.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good choice for sealing outer basement wall Product was as advertised. Has very sticky adhesive already applied, not sure how much the spray on solution is needed. Film seems pretty puncture resistant, and soft enough to self repair where needed. Only time will tell how durable. I used dryloc hydraulic cement and sealing paint over the whole area, and applied the film only in case the foundation cracked further. Gives me peace of mind that i wont have to dig again. Product was pricey, but after digging an 8 foot hole by hand, it seems well worth not having to go through that agian. October 13, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sticks to itself real well but not to the brick. I did everything they said to do, pressured washed the wall, sprayed on the pre-treatment and it went on with out a problem. But within an hour it started coming loose along the top edge and we spent another hour applying pressure with hard rollers. By the next morning it had fallen off the wall and could not be repaired because it was stuck to itself. I wasted over 400 dollars and a full day of work. April 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product Since I am just a homeowner and have never used a product like this before, I thoroughly read the instructions and followed them to the letter. The application and result was as perfect as can be. We didn't even backfill for over a day and there was not even the slightest sign of the membrane coming loose. I couldn't be happier with the product and results. September 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, with important detail left out of instructions. Caution: Not enough instructions are supplied with this product. Do not let this product get wet, or damp before peeling and installing it. Nowhere on the box does it say this, but if you let the paper backing (that peels off before installation) get wet, the product looses all sticky qualities, and becomes nearly useless. When new, used out of the box, it is a really great product (when dry). *A 3 inch overlap is required. *Make sure the surface being covered, is dust free, and dry. *Be careful to get inner corners tucked in before allowing the sticky side of the membrane to touch the surface being covered. It is really tacky and difficult to move after it gets stuck. *When this material is applied @ 80+ degrees, then it cools, it will shrink a small amount. The inner corners will pull away from the surface, leaving voids in the corners. *When the sticky back is applied to the top of the membrane, there is no removing, or re-aligning, the product will not move. That characteristic of super stickiness, is what makes this a good waterproofing material. September 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I am happy with it I put it up on the side of the house with no problems. You will definitely need two people to do it, I would never be able to do it alone. Over all it went on fast and easy, I conditioned the wall then when that was drying I cut out all my pieces and it went up faster then I would of though. April 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Water proofing Great product if used correctly. I installed this product according to specs and it worked great! I used it for dampness in my basement and it created a great barrier! May 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product seals extremely well totally waterproof. due not install in sunlight best to install when area is in shade April 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very sticky Used it to seal sill plate and band joists around slab where grade could not be easily lowered. Primered clean concrete and wood, let it dry, and this stuff stuck very well to it. Don't let it touch itself or you'll never get it off. It's done easily by 2 people, but not easy to do by one. Someone needs to hold it into position while someone peels the backing. Took one point off for value, because it's expensive and only possible to buy a huge roll, but it seems like you could use it for sealing all manner of stuff. Maybe I'll build a boat. May 27, 2014
