Grace Ice & Water Shield HT fully-adhered, smooth surface roofing underlayment is specifically designed for high temperature applications such as metal roof assemblies. It delivers all the advantages of Grace Ice & Water Shield roofing underlayment with thermal stability metal roofs require. Not all high temperature roofing underlayments are the same. Grace Ice & Water Shield HT is an excellent high temperature ice and water barrier that follows in the footsteps of the original Ice & Water Shield, but is specially formulated to meet the higher service temperatures that are inherent to metal roofing systems. Grace Ice & Water Shield HT is formulated with a proprietary adhesive with temperature resistance of up to 260°F. The membrane forms a watertight bond to the roof deck, and seals around fasteners to around the nail of the primary roof covering and thus maintains its waterproof integrity on the roof deck. It also creates a strong bond to the roof deck. Grace Ice & Water Shield HT delivers optimal balance of adhesion and thermal stability for superior performance under the most demanding conditions.

  • Temperature resistance up to 260° F: Provides premium waterproofing for metal roofs
  • 120 day exposure: Delivers consistent performance over long, unpredictable construction cycles
  • Strong adhesion to the roof deck: Helps ensure a watertight seal, protecting roofs from harsh weather conditions
  • High quality seal around roofing nails: Delivers strong roof leak protection; providing peace of mind against costly call backs
  • Forms superior laps: Provides watertight installation with no special treatment of the laps
  • Dual barrier protection - rubberized asphalt is combined with polymeric film to form two waterproofing barriers providing maximum protection
  • Delivers optimum balance of adhesion and thermal stability for superior performance under the most demanding conditions
  • Protects under all standard sloped roof coverings - Grace Ice & Water Shield HT protects under slate, tile, cedar shakes, metal and conventional asphalt shingles
  • Protects roofs from wind driven rain and ice dams

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great price for an awesome product. Grace Ice & Water Shield was the perfect choice for a low pitch roof on our shed. Installed in 45 degree weather helped deal with the sticky backing. This product sticks to everything so use caution and an assistant in warmer temperatures. Finding the rip cord in the middle was a challenge. They really embedded it in the product. Home Depot's price was very competitive and delivery was easy. Feel bad for the UPS guy as the box is pretty heavy. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Grace Ice and Water HT Homeowner installed with no previous experience. Installed on whole roof. Started off using ripcord but I found it was easier to install without the ripcord. Grace Ice and Watershield HT protected my roof for over a month until the metal was installed due to installation delays. Recommend installing at temperatures over 45 degrees. December 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just installed it The rip cord technology was not present though labled everywhere. That was fine as i found it easy to use and install with just one person. Contrary to the directions i left it on the roll and lined it up and un rolled it by pulling the paper back over the roll and pushing/rolling the roll forward. I have a low slop roof that i was applying this membrane to, so this technique was easy and i had no problem with it sticking to itself becasue the sticky sid ewasn't exposed until it was about to touch the clean roof deck. I would have given 5's all around but i just installed this product and do not know how long it will last. Watch out for the installed seems, on a hot day if you walk over it it can transfer to your shoes and be tracked into the house or other surface you don't want stained...oops! August 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good stuff We installed a new roof and put Grace water and ice shield in our valleys. Wow! This is an excellent product. Stuck to the old and new plywood and is thick enough that if water ever gets in there, it will never leak. December 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked well. Relatively easy to install. Roll out, cut to length, install as slowly pulling back paper covering adhesive. Had a couple storms since in stalled and no leaks. December 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GOOD SEALER Good product for sealing valleys. For first time user, you need two people to install. April 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A dry suit for your roof that will last forever imo We put the Grace HT on our old cabin in the U.P of Michigan. After removing the old original roll roofing. We applied the Grace HT to the entire roof, which has many dormers and valleys. Went on as expected as we had done our research prior. The roof deck is very old rough pine various width boards. Those old boards will never see the light of day again. The metal roofing was installed and I am confident that if a leak should occur in the metal, the Grace will not let it penetrate. And the inside of the cabin should stay much cooler in summers. Darn good stuff imo........ November 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great water barrier with strong adhesion I bought enough of this for a double layer but soon realized that one would have been more than enough. There is no way water will penetrate this. Someone commented that this does not stick well, but I found it to stick to nearly everything. The only thing it doesn't seem to stick well to is damp wood. Particularly treated wood that is new and still damp. Dry/clean sheathing will have no problem grabbing onto this. The instructions say to nail it down for sloped roofs, but check this out. I had to repair a 8 foot vertical wall along the side of the chimney that had severe water damage. After the repair, I covered the section with this and it stuck like crazy... to everything. I didn't even nail it to the 8' vertical wall and it stuck. The only nails came from the vinyl siding that I later covered the wall with a week later. The only down side I can come up with it that it is expensive. If I had known how good this was, I would have only bought enough for one layer and saved some money. You get what you pay for and this is well worth it. October 8, 2013
