Answer:
Thanks for your inquiry. The Project Painter Plus is not designed to spray a material like Drylok. This material will require a much larger sprayer. Something from an Ultra Max II 1095 to a Mark V or even a texture sprayer depending on the exact Drylok material you choose. Thanks for contacting Graco Technical Assistance. You can also reach us at 1-844-241-9499.

Answer:
Dustin,
Drylok would be too thick for the Project Painter Plus. You would need at least an RTX 5000 texture sprayer to handle that.

Answer:
Hello Dustin,
Unfortunately the Project Painter Plus would not be the unit to use to apply drylok. Your correct - you would need a unit quite a bit larger to be able to apply that product. Depending on the particular dryloc product (check the application section of the label) your planning to apply - you will need to determine the appropriate unit for that product.

Yes, if it's nothing more than a standard thickness paint but formulated for decks, you should have no problem however, you won't be able to spray the thick, restore type deck paint.

I know the smaller handhelds like the True Coat Plus II or the True Coat Pro might be better but they seem quite heavy and that is without the paint being in the cannister. I'm buying this for my best gal and my sense is those handhelds are heavy.

A HVLP (one withe a turbine or compressed air supplied) would probably be a better choice, But this could be used, it's just the cleanup would persuade me you choose something else.

Hello, and thank you for your question about the Project Painter Plus. Yes this unit will work for small projects like you have outlined. Please be aware that this machine does use more paint to fill the hose than the handhelds. I hope this helps you with your decision. If not, please call GRACO technical assistance at 1-800-543-0339

When I did the inside roof of my storage shed, same thing - point the gun up at the ceiling and 2 minutes later I was done. I don't think I would have felt comfortable with a canister full of paint over my head! I've used this for a lot of small projects and it worked great, like a small wood entry bench, a 'cube' type organizer, etc. Read Less

Project Painter Plus is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 180.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sprayer! I own my own remodeling business and i do a lot of painting. This little sprayer has exceeded my expectations, staining fences, painting interior of homes, cabinets, doors and even an exterior two story home. I've painted water base and oil through it with no problems, just make sure to clean it really good. I've owned mine now for about three years and it's still working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive unit , added a cart for easy handling Great entry level sprayer for the money , I purchased to spray a 2500 sq ft shop office . Same gun and hose the more expensive versions use, Biggest issue for me was - no cart ,as moving a bucket of paint and a sprayer setting on the floor sounded like a mess waiting to happen first time the hose pulls on it. I found a old hand cart laying around ,quickly drilled two holes and bolted it on, High enough for the hose to set in the bottom of the pail , secured the pail with a bungee cord to the cart, I sprayed over 20 gallon of drywall primer (thick) and worked super for heavy material , and over 30 gallons of interior latex , I was impressed with the performance for an airless sprayer - It saved a ton of time vs a roller and cleanup afterwards was not too bad , cannot wait to get some more unfinished projects done now due to how fast it makes it !!! Keep a roller handy until you get the hang of spraying it, in case you get it on heavy in spots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Use I bought this painter after using a wagner tub type one that froze up since I last used it. The project Painter is much easier to use although I found it difficult to get a "fan spray" from a Kilz product. I couldn't seem to get the pressure right for some time. Once I did it was very easy to use. From my previous experience, i especially like the pump saver lubricant to keep the parts lubricated. One thing i didn't like was the strainer prevents you from getting the maximum paint out of a can. There is still a couple of inches of paint left. You have to take the strainer off and that sure causes a mess. Graco should engineer a better strainer,.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Features I just finished spraying sealer and stain on my 150' railing around my deck and a gazebo. The Project Painter worked beautifully. I was amazed at it simplicity, but durability. The feature of reversing the tip to clear clogs is unique. I previously owned a Wagner which constantly was clogging and had to stop and clean the sprayer but not the Project Painter, just reverse the tip, clear and it is ready to going again. The feature of siphon from a can sure saves lots of time and no mess. Finally, cleaning is a snap. Thank you for producing such a remarkable machine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value Good features and performance for the price. Should handle most if not all homeowner jobs. The optional roller adds a lot of flexibility to the system. Cons: I found that the 515 spray tip clogged frequently in my application. The priming and flushing procedures seemed a bit complicated, at least the way the instructions made it seem. However, the Quick Start Guide is laminated so you can have with you at the work area! If I used the system frequently, I would probably have the procedures down as second nature, but I'll likely need to refer to the instructions a good bit. Would help the occasional user to have the Prime/Spray Valve labeled in some way as to which position was for which function.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Purchase! Purchased this sprayer last weekend to stain a cedar fence and what a time saver! I had stained about 50' of fence with a pump up sprayer wasting stain (10 gallons) and spending 6-7 hours. Purchased this sprayer (and more stain (15 gallons more)) and covered the footing and masked off the bricks where fence met house. 3 1/2 hours later I had stained 430' of fence and had only used 10 gallons of stain (so I got to return 10 gallons). Prep work took same amount of time as before) cleanup wasn't quick, but also not hard, as I wanted to clean the machine up well so it would work the next time I needed it. Saved a lot of time and refund for the 10 gallons of stain returned just about paid for the paint sprayer. .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great I purchased this product to stain 200 feet of fence and then do some painting on the outside of the house. After reading the manual and watching the videos, I still had some questions. I contacted customer service and struck the mother load. I got information that is not in the manual and some information the differs from the manual that really helped. The sprayer work flawlessly and I was done in less then a day. When I switched from 5 gal containers to 1 gal to finish up, the ability to hang the can on the side of the painter was really helpful. Whoever came up with that idea should get an atta-boy. I am still trying to figure out how to clean the inside of the sprayer handle filter. I could not be happier with the with the sprayer.
