Answer:
Thanks for your inquiry. The Project Painter Plus is not designed to spray a material like Drylok. This material will require a much larger sprayer. Something from an Ultra Max II 1095 to a Mark V or even a texture sprayer depending on the exact Drylok material you choose. Thanks for contacting Graco Technical Assistance. You can also reach us at 1-844-241-9499.

Answer:
Dustin,
Drylok would be too thick for the Project Painter Plus. You would need at least an RTX 5000 texture sprayer to handle that.

Answer:
Hello Dustin,
Unfortunately the Project Painter Plus would not be the unit to use to apply drylok. Your correct - you would need a unit quite a bit larger to be able to apply that product. Depending on the particular dryloc product (check the application section of the label) your planning to apply - you will need to determine the appropriate unit for that product.

Yes this will spray deck paint as long as it is not the type of paint with a grit in is for added traction.

Answer:
Yes, if it's nothing more than a standard thickness paint but formulated for decks, you should have no problem however, you won't be able to spray the thick, restore type deck paint.

I know the smaller handhelds like the True Coat Plus II or the True Coat Pro might be better but they seem quite heavy and that is without the paint being in the cannister. I'm buying this for my best gal and my sense is those handhelds are heavy.

A HVLP (one withe a turbine or compressed air supplied) would probably be a better choice, But this could be used, it's just the cleanup would persuade me you choose something else.

Answer:
Hello, and thank you for your question about the Project Painter Plus. Yes this unit will work for small projects like you have outlined. Please be aware that this machine does use more paint to fill the hose than the handhelds. I hope this helps you with your decision. If not, please call GRACO technical assistance at 1-800-543-0339

When I did the inside roof of my storage shed, same thing - point the gun up at the ceiling and 2 minutes later I was done. I don't think I would have felt comfortable with a canister full of paint over my head! I've used this for a lot of small projects and it worked great, like a small wood entry bench, a 'cube' type organizer, etc. Read Less

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 78 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressive unit , added a cart for easy handling Great entry level sprayer for the money , I purchased to spray a 2500 sq ft shop office . Same gun and hose the more expensive versions use, Biggest issue for me was - no cart ,as moving a bucket of paint and a sprayer setting on the floor sounded like a mess waiting to happen first time the hose pulls on it. I found a old hand cart laying around ,quickly drilled two holes and bolted it on, High enough for the hose to set in the bottom of the pail , secured the pail with a bungee cord to the cart, I sprayed over 20 gallon of drywall primer (thick) and worked super for heavy material , and over 30 gallons of interior latex , I was impressed with the performance for an airless sprayer - It saved a ton of time vs a roller and cleanup afterwards was not too bad , cannot wait to get some more unfinished projects done now due to how fast it makes it !!! Keep a roller handy until you get the hang of spraying it, in case you get it on heavy in spots. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well after one 8hr session I've used this once so far to stain my deck. It worked well, but I still need practice for a nice even coat. It kicks in your hand when you spray so it takes some adjustment to get your lines right. There is a decent about of escape spray I guess I should call it. make sure you meal further than you think you need to. I had to back brush the solid stain so it still took a long time despite the speed of spraying. I don't think I'll do that on the fence though. The extension really helped for the deck floor. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Sprayer, Horrible Clean up Let me start by saying this sprayer operates wonderfully. The finish is nice, the unit works well. It takes no time at all to paint with the sprayer. So it cuts time that way, but the initial prep to keep the overspray off of everything is the exchange in time. It doesn't make sense to get this sprayer out unless you are spraying a lot. I bought it last year and sprayed my front entry door with it. By time I was taped off, sprayed and cleaned up I could have sprayed the door three times with a rattle can. This year I pulled it out to paint the fence and deck. I wound up painting the outer perimeter of the fence with it, and hand painting the inside of the fence and deck. It is just small enough to cumbersome on a large job, but just large enough to be a pain to handle and clean. Which brings me to the worst part of this unit, cleaning it. From start to finish it's like a two hour job to clean this thing everyday. What a pain!!! They make it seem so easy but by time you have cleaned the paint out of the unit lines, cleaned the paint out of the sprayer lines, taken the spray gun apart, cleaned all the nooks and crannies and filters, reassembled the unit, re-primed the unit with thinner, cleaned up the waste buckets, and put it all away it's way too much. Even my 2 year old asks me after dinner if I need to go clean the paint sprayer because she won't see me until bedtime. And to top it all off I have two 5 gallon buckets of thinner contaminated waste paint and water that I need to take to the dump because you can't dump them down the drain even though everything I spray is latex. Great idea, but definitely not a "Project" painter. July 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Flawless I have yet to use my new sprayer however, the reason why I purchased a Graco is because I borrowed a relatives and stained my summer camp in no time. Very little effort and a nice even coat. Follow the instructions and you will have no issues. Love the product. July 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fast but.... Have been airbrushing (models) for over 50 years. That did not adequately prepare me for the industrial strength overspray I encountered while painting the interior of my 2-1/2 car garage. I found out too late that covering just the area where I was spraying was totally inadequate. I spent much, much more time cleaning up. Would I spray indoors again. No. I tried two types of safety glasses/goggles and three types of dust masks/respirators and all resulted in my glasses completely fogging over. The included instructional DVD was helpful but didn't cover spraying decks. The actual spraying part was fun...but I was painting white on white and trying to look through fogged lenses...there were missed areas. Clean up is a chore but doable. Good luck...and cover everything! June 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice sprayer Love the hose flush made clean up easy. simply follow instructions and you're there. Painter was easy to use, went to YouTube and watch some videos got a few tips and was off painting. The house looks good by the way thanks for a great product . July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactlly what I wanted. This is the paint sprayer I have been looking for. I have used the larger ones but needed this one for DIY projects. July 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really like using it it took a little time to figure out and what not to do I think a DVD about the unit you have would be a great help I learned mostly everything on watching videos on u tube just have to really look for the unit you might have after learning about it I really like it a lot but it is a new toy July 2, 2016
