The Graco Magnum Project painter Plus airless paint sprayer, was easy to set up, just attach the sprayer nozzle to the hose and hose to the sprayer and your ready to go. I found the Project Painter made it easier to spray my deck than other sprayers with the paint tank attached with this you can tilt the sprayer in any direction.
I recoated my 12x12 deck in less than 30 minutes!
Clean up was easy but did take longer than spraying the deck.
Watch the CD that is included and Buy the Graco PUMP ARMOR which is used for storage. Not sure why a sample was not included in a kit that had everything else.
My neighbor already wants to borrow it.

I followed the directions to the letter. They are not very clear. Had a great deal of trouble using the sprayer. If you have used a different brand, that might make a difference. But I found it very difficult to get working in the first place. Once I did, it worked great. Getting there was difficult. Very frustrating.

In my spare time, I work on old houses. I bought this sprayer thinking it would speed up painting time and cut down on costs associated with hiring professional painters. I found it very difficult to use. There are lots of steps involved, and the thing makes a huge mess. If I was painting a commercial building, I think this thing would be great. But I'm not. I'm painting a small house. The set up, clean up, and associated secondary issues with this sprayer make an old fashioned paint roller look really clean and easy to use.
I don't recommend buying this paint sprayer unless you're a commercial painter.

This little painter works pretty well for what it does but keep in mind it is a disposable painter. After running about 20 gals through it the pump will fail and is non-repairable. If I would have known this I would have ponied up the extra $50 and gotten the X5.

I use this in my shop to spray oil enamel cabinet paint. It has enough pressure to atomize the paint well. Bought some smaller sprayer tips for handling stain and oil paints. Also bought a 15 foot spray hose as the 25 foot hose that came with it is too bulky for close work.
I modified the base of the sprayer to fit over a one gallon can and cut the intake hose also to reach the bottom of the bucket. Less paint to flush out and clean up with my modifications.
I often leave paint in the machine for up to a week while working on a job. Just relieve the pressure and cover the pot with a plastic bag.

I was very excited to purchase a graco sprayer and had some success with smaller areas and some shelves and closets but when it came to spaying a ceiling i was very disappointed. I could not for the life of me get a decent spray pattern, I tried a smaller tip, thinning the paint, changed up the spray technique and every time the paint dried i was left with spray streaks. And with certain lighting they are easy to see. It does not delivery professional results and the video says you don't need to thin your paint. the pressure is just not there. I guess you get what you pay for.

Yes, I use mine for small projects. I spray shelves, kids portable art desks and other small to large projects. I just make sure to clean it up real good. I spray stain, paint and poly products. I just take everything apart and clean it real throughly. I like to stick to water based products just for the ease of cleaning. Just use common sense when spraying, start the sprayer on a low setting if not you will drown your project in what you are spraying. Try it first on a scrap piece before you use it on the real thing. Saves a lot of frustration and tears.

Purchased the sprayer (my first) for a large job in my garage/workshop. Sprayed a total of fourteen gallons in about 3 hours total. I'm sure it would have taken my a couple of days with a roller. Sprayer worked flawlessly. Had a couple of tip clogs that were easily cured by using the anti-clog tip function. My ONLY complaint is that (1) I was sitting it on top of five-gallon paint pales. (no other choice) The base of the sprayer isnt really designed to hold securly to the pale. At one point the sprayers vibration casued it to fall into the paint pale. big mess. I had to get creative and place two pieces of cardboard between the sparyer and the pale to dampen the vibration, then it stayed put. It would have been nice if Graco wouldve incorporated some way to secure the sprayer atop the pales.
