Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Sprayer ! I was very thrilled when I received the Graco TrueCoat Plus electric airless sprayer. I am a DIYer and love products that are very durable and meets my expectations. This sprayer indeed exceeded my expectations. It came with all necessary items to start with:a reversible tip, # 515, 32 oz plastic cup for the paint, 5 cup linings which save time for clean up, shoulder strap, instructional video on DVD, and instruction manual. This sprayer can be used for many varieties of coatings: oil based, stains, acrylics, latex paints, primers, varnishes, enamels, urethanes etc. I did a test painting on the back of my house which has cement board, with exterior latex coating, and the result was amazing! You can see the result on the picture. It looks very professional. It was very easy to clean up after the work. This is the best electric sprayer I have ever used, and I definitely recommend it to anybody. September 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Save Time, Money, and Sanity! Graco perfected the paint sprayer! Today I am reviewing the new Graco TrueCoat Plus II Airless Paint Sprayer. This sprayer comes hard wired for power vs a rechargeable battery. The motor is solid and powerful, extremely efficient and doesn't hint to giving up. The sprayer has been designed with the everyday user-to-professional in mind. The easy setup, use, and instructions are so easy that anyone could use this. Out of the box, I was able to fill the paint hopper, select the strength of the spray with the variable control knob, set the safety switch, plug it in, and paint. I was able to paint my entire garage in 10 minutes! I was able to do this with one gallon of paint, filling the hopper 3-4 times. Now, Though it took me 10 minutes, I didn't care too much for how well I painted my garage. I just needed to get a fresh coat of paint on the walls. You might take more time depending on how much prep you want to do. This sprayer came with the sprayer, instructions, DVD, manual, and storage juice for maintaining the motor health. Please watch my video and see what I mean! In regards to the clean up. THIS MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY! If you don't take the time to clean this sprayer properly, you'll be surprised the next time you use it when it doesn't work! I spent MORE TIME cleaning up than it did to prep and use it. Paint is nasty when it idly sits inside a machine. You must run enough water through it and use the blue juice to protect the internal parts when done. This Graco sprayer is built well, rugged, easy to use, and is a great value. Happy Spraying! November 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Paint Sprayer The Graco TrueCoat Plus Airless ll Paint Sprayer is easy to use and produces great results. Setup is quick and easy. I suggest you read the instructions or watch the how-to DVD that is included in the box. Once you do this, you will understand how the paint sprayer works and how to properly clean and care for it, before you paint. The Graco True Coat Sprayer is easy to control during painting and the paint output is nice and steady. This sprayer is efficient because you can control the paint spray output by turning a dial on the gun. This is a great feature because you can paint at your pace instead of the pace of the sprayer. Another great feature is this sprayer can be used with a variety of paints at various thicknesses and requires no paint thinning. Simply fill up the paint container, prime the gun, then begin painting. Oh and I love that it is electric. You don't have to own an air compressor nor hassle with air pressure to get a nice even paint job. Clean-up is much easier than I anticipated. I prefer cleaning up the Graco sprayer over cleaning paint brushes, rollers, ect. The paint container comes with liners and a lid. To clean it simply throw the liner and excess paint away. You will need to run paint thinner through the pump and get a few paper towels to wipe down the sprayer, but that is it. As I mentioned, the instructions and DVD will show you everything you need to do in order to keep this sprayer in prime operating condition. One thing to keep in mind is this particular sprayer is made for smaller applications. It has a smaller, paint container on so if you need to do a big job, I would recommend a Graco sprayer that is designed to pull paint directly from 1 or 5 gallon buckets; otherwise you will have to stop and refill the container quite a bit. This gun is ideal for DIY'ers though. I painted my front door and a few other craft items on one container of paint. I highly recommend the Graco TrueCoat Plus ll Sprayer to anyone looking to take a lot of hassle out of painting. October 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dont Be affraid to BUY......Its well worth it. I am 41 years old and have had my share of paint jobs, living in 5 houses and three different states. I have always done the normal brush and roller thing that everyone dreds doing cause of time and labor. My recent project is to paint all 6 rooms in the house, due to the wear and tear from my 4 kids. I knew I wanted to make the job easier this time, so I did some research on paint sprayers. Graco was listed as the Best sprayers on the market. I but I bought the Truecoat II Plus cause of the size, Cost and usablility i seen in videos, instead of the larger models. I followed instructions for setup and loaded the gun with paint. Primed it and check the pattern on a scrap peice of cardboard and away I went. Let me tell, I wondered how much time I wasted painting all the rooms in the past with a roller and brush. This thing is awesome. I painted the 5X10 Dining Room and ceiling in 35 minutes. Ill never go back to rolling or brushing unless its for trim work. The overspray was very minimal and cleanup was a breeze. Thing to Note is: Make sure ya get good painters tape, mask paper and masking plastic, like 3M brands. You have to mask off everything ya dont want spray on. More tape time and less painting is OK in my book. Thanks Graco November 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cleaning tips for the Truecoat Plus n Pro Sprayer I submitted a review on the Truecoat Plus Pro Sprayer, but wanted to add some cleaning tips as I found the instructions a bit confusing the first couple of times I cleaned it. First, I'd recommend purchasing the 48oz cup. Before I ordered the larger cup, I was having to load a 2nd time to complete the job I was working on (painting kitchen cabinets.) The larger cup allowed me to complete what I was painting without having to refill. The additional paint cup comes in handy when cleaning, because you have to refill with clean water two times. A couple of more items I would buy/have is a handheld pot-n-pan scrubber and a toothbrush. The sprayer has two settings. The prime setting, switch is vertical, and the paint setting, switch is down. Once you finished painting, you'll need to discard the paint, pull off the paint suction tube and clean it. Don't forget to pull off the mesh filter attached to the suction tube. A metal paint can opener works perfect. I use the toothbrush to clean the inside of the suction tube. If you have two paint cups fill them both with water. Attach the suction tube to the sprayer, and screw on one of the paint cups filled with water. Shake the sprayer to clean the top of it. Prime the sprayer (this pushes paint out of the sprayer), then engage the sprayer by pushing the switch down for about 15 seconds. Put switch back to the prime position, unscrew the cup, and engage the trigger to again flush the sprayer. Discard the water, and refill, or screw on the other cup with the clean water. This time, you'll want to turn the spray tip to unclog, engage the sprayer, and spray until it sprays clean water. Once this is completed, you'll want to clean the suction tube again, clean the area where the cup screws onto the sprayer, and clean the tip. Again, the pot-n-pan scrubber and toothbrush work great to clean these areas. The final part of cleaning the sprayer is to refill it with pump armor. Make sure you thread the spray tip back onto the sprayer or the pump armor will leak out. Put the switch to prime, turn over the sprayer, and fill housing with armor until it comes out of the small hole next to where the suction tube is housed (you'll see what I mean once you purchase the sprayer.) Last thing, in an effort to keep the sprayer clean, I wrap it with 3m plastic film. I'm able to cover about 75% of sprayer. This will limit the amount of overspray that gets on your sprayer, and will significantly reduce your cleaning time. Total clean time is about 30 minutes I hope this helps! February 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great small Gun Professional painter- We use this on exteriors to spray garage doors in just minutes. One cup can do 1 1/2 garage doors using Sherwin WIlliams Duration Exterior Satin. Just recently we sprayed 3 gallons of S.W multipurpose primer and 3 gallons of S.W Cashmere medium lustre on all trim and doors. Just be sure to clean tip throughout the day to keep is from spitting. Excellent !Excellent ! Coverage. We also have larger sprayers but we were in a time crunch and needed to use this to spray trim. March 23, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Purchase Purchased to use for small projects instead of pulling out large airless sprayer. Figured this would save material and clean up time. Has worked well so far spraying clear coats and paint. Wouldn't want to use for large projects as the unit is fairly heavy. But again for small projects like painting built ins and trim is nice. Only issue I had was the first tip starting leaking around the seal and these have to be purchased as an assembly. Would be preferable if the tips were like the commercial units and you just replace that along with the o-ring. Other than that has worked great. Clean up is pretty quick and easy. Unit is quiet especially compared to the Wagner systems. I was really impressed with quality of finish whether it be water base or solvent base materials. Flexible pick up tube allows spray in almost any position. April 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Paints fast and uniform This thing chews through paint, you can paint fast and uniform. I was very impressed with how quickly I was able to paint. It took me about 5-10 minutes to paint a coat of the pieces of a small dresser, but maybe another 15-20 to clean. This is for tackling larger projects, the cleanup time could probably be improved after a few more tries, but there is a teardown cost to such a fast cleaning process. I will say that you should set aside some time to learn the sprayer before you tackle an important project. Read the cleaning instructions and take it apart before you paint, I had difficulty gauging how hard I needed to pull to take it apart when it was 'dirty', afraid I'd break it. I attached a video of a test piece I painted (poorly, hard to hold phone and use the sprayer). I wouldn't say this is a good representation of how it paints, once you've gauged how it works you can make very clean passes. I attached it to give you an idea of how quickly it applies.
