Answer:
the 515. You'll want to get the 315 if your painting something like kitchen cabinets. This will cut the spray fan in half, which reduces overspray, and leaves a smooth finish.

Hi Woody,
The Graco TrueCoat Plus II will spray a wide variety of coatings including stains and latex paints.
If you are spraying stains or polys it is recommended to purchase a NAR311 spray tip as this will give the best finish.

The only thing I think you need to watch out for would be if the stain is flammable. The unit isn't rated for flammable fluids. There is a range of viscosity controlled by a gauge on the unit. For sure do a test spray first.

Answer:
Yes, you can use this sprayer to stain your pergola.
Please read the label on the stain. Does it say "Flammable" ? If yes do not use it.
Use only water-based or oil-based (mineral
spirit-type) materials. Do not use materials which state
“FLAMMABLE” on the packaging.

Answer:
Yes, but you may need to still roll it out to get an even finish. Basically you would be using the sprayer to get the paint on the ceiling. Also you will be filling the cup a lot, unless its a closet or really small room. There is also an attachment that allows you angle the tip in any direction.

I don't know how well it would do spraying ceilings unless you bought the backpack attachment for it because the cup is too small to be spraying upward for long periods of time

Answer:
No.
Tilting sprayer to direct spray angle causes an uneven finish.
It is intended to spray in a horizontal sweep motion. Hold sprayer 10 in from surface and aim straight at surface for best results.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 49 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Finish I purchased this unit recently and I'm very satisfied with the results I obtained. I was very excited to see that I could put paint in, purchase the right tip for the job, and start spraying. I thought that the weight or the cord could be problematic, but didn't have trouble with either. Another great feature is having a service center locally. I don't anticipate any problems, but if there are I can bring it to a place and have it repaired. The only thing I didn't like was cleaning the unit. It really does take some time. However, I don't believe that has anything to do with the design of the product. Cleaning brushes and rollers take awhile as well and does not leave as nice of a finish. June 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for small/medium sized projects, easy clean I purchased this handheld sprayer to paint my shutters on the front of the house. Once I had stripped most of the old layers of paint from the shutters, I then used the Graco paint sprayer to apply an even coat of primer. Once dry, I then sprayed the new paint onto the shutters. Took all of 20 minutes to paint 6 large shutters. Clean up was easy. Looking forward to several more paint projects around the house. There is overspray, but if you plan for it, you can minimize the amount by using the product correctly and not allowing for any to land on anything you don't wish. July 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use Can be very difficult to screw jar back on when using the plastic bags as liners. I found it much easier without the bags. June 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great too! Not so great instructions I have nothing but good things to say about the PlusII. It is quick to set up, primes quickly, and has a variety of bits to meet my contractor needs. The power setting is an absolute must for the contractor. My concern is with storage. The instructions do not clearly distinguish between short term and long-term storage. Is a 24 hr period of inaction considered short or long-term? Does a quick cleaning with water suffice for overnight storage? Apparently not, for on two occasions now I have not be able to get the pump to work. I have followed instructions to a fault and still it won't work. I fear that I need an expensive replacement part. Any email reply would be appreciated. March 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by gave up Ordered this several months ago, finally got around to using. Struggled getting the cup to thread on. Only did about 1/4th of a wall and ran out of paint. Added paint and then it clogged immediately. After filling, was unable to thread the can/holder onto the sprayer. After struggling for 30-mins, I gave up. Went back to a roller. Wished it would have worked for me. I put in trash. June 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Everything I wanted and more! This sprayer is lightweight, quiet, powerful, easy to set up and easy to clean. You could do a perfectly adequate clean up in 15 minutes easy using very little water (the drought you know). I do a lot of small projects so clean up time is important. It lays down a perfectly smooth coat on furniture etc. time and time again. Also, Graco customer service has been outstanding answering questions and giving advice. I couldn't ask for more from a company and product. March 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great multi purpose utility sprayer. This is a great sprayer. I have had mine about 8 months and have used it for numerous items. Worked great on fruniture & caninet fronts. I also used it on some porches but motor gets to hot if you run it continously for huge decks, etc. I sprayed oil based primers and latex stains and paints without any trouble due to the adjustable setting. March 3, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Keep spraying I bought about a year ago and done many jobs with it every thing works great except it's to heavy when spraying March 4, 2016
