Answer:
You can use a removal tool to get MC4 connectors apart, but you don't need one they will come apart easily if both tabs are depressed. Yes you can use any MC4 connectors with the Grape 100 Panel.

Answer:
Hi,
Yes, in theory you can use any MC4 connector. While we have not directly experienced any problem with mixing MC4 style connector brands, the manufacturers do not share tolerances and design specs and means that mixing brands could result in a loose fit. While not strictly required, it is generally best to use the manufacturer suggested MC4 style connector whenever possible.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It works. OK, this is part of a major project. I replaced my solar array on my Gemini catamaran. I removed the 64W and 35W panels and replaced them with a Grape Solar 100W panel. I bought the connector, well because I needed to connect the panel to the controller/batteries. I cut the cable in half ( one end clicks into the positive connection the other to the negative) stripped the open ends and spliced them into my existing wiring ( crimps and shrink fittings) And, drum roll, it worked! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great I bought a couple of sets of these 1 ft. extensions to wire together an array of panels. These worked out well and an inexpensive way to maintain a watertight connection to bare wire by cutting them in half. Saved money over the cost of premade bare wire connectors. December 10, 2013
