how many more panel can i add on to this system?

can i add 2 more panel (100w) to this system? looks like the charge controller can handle 35A and there are 5.56A per panel. am i missing anything?
Asked by: John
this system will support only 5 panels,4 panels on a good day can produce 100 amps of electric.thats alot of juice, appx 100 watts an hour for a tv,which is 10 amps per hour, this will keep your 4 battery bank fully charged until winter..the furnace is the devourer of battery...i live off grid in montana, and the furnace will kill ur batteries in about 12 hours....u will need a generator also, about 1 hour with my generator and im fully charged...if u r in a reasonable climate the 400 watts will u do u just fine....never forget, the furnace is ur enemy......when it comes to battery....

Will this one bundle kit be able to support a house

What I mean by this is will it support a house from the bottom up with 6 rooms and a big hallway with a/c units, refrigerators, lamps, etc.
Asked by: Nana
Not even close, your house will need something on the order of 10-15 kiloWatts. The 400 Watts is only 0.400 kiloWatts, so you can see how little it produces. The converter will be good for powering things like low wattage lighting, battery chargers, computers, small radios and TVs, but anything like an appliance such as coffee maker, microwave, A/C, heater, washing machine, etc is way, way out of the question.

I have a light that is run with a ballast that runs on 110v. A.C. draws 9.5Amps 60 Hz. Will the 400 supply the power I need? for an 8hr. run time

Asked by: Anonymous
what kind of light do you have that uses the equivalent of 17 60 watt light bulbs? Even a yard light does not use that much electricity. I lit my whole workshop with six fluorescent units (8 tubes) using less than 500 watts lighting over 600 square feet of shop space. Are you lighting an operating room? I suspect you are miscalculating your wattage draw for a single light fixture.

400-Watt Off-Grid Solar Panel Kit is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rv installation Was pretty easy to install. Tech support people were very knowlegeble patient helpful and responded promptly.took a little planning Where to locate inverter and charge controller to minimize voltage drop. How to get conductors from roof to charge controller in basement (I went through plumbing vent roof flange and fished through wall. Others use the refrigerator vent chase. You also have to design your own roof panel mounting system. Was easy, I used short pieces of 1 1/2 aluminum angle to mke mounting brackets and all stainless fasteners to avoid galvanic corrosion. Then some aluminum flat stock for support rods when rotating panels up for proper sun angle. Don't forget to order a few tubes of Dicor self leveling caulk to seal roof penetrations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Very satisfied with this system. Powers our hot tub with no problem. Saves on our power bill. Our hot tub is 120 volt so it works well. I have added 4 deep cycle batteries to this system and have all the power I need for hot tub and outdoor lights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solar panels So far the solar kit works great bought 2 kits and haven't had any trouble running a small refrigerator freezer and lights in the cabin we'll see how it works when it's warmer out but I like not listening to the generator.

I purchased this believing all the reviews and the company that it was EASY to assemble. It's NOT. I had to pay an electrician to put the wires into the two boxes. They had to be opened up and each wire hooked up individually. It was a real spaghetti looking mess. The manual wasn't helpful unless your a licensed electrician and can read electrical diagrams. I wound up paying more in fees to hook the system up than what it was worth. Next time I'm buying a plug and play system that doesn't require an electrician to hook it up. Definitely not for the DIY person unless your an electrician.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Off grid power Unless you're planning on running an air conditioner this unit is perfect. I run this unit with three 100 amp our AGM batteries. During the day when the sun is out it is amazing. At night it runs a ceiling fan, 4 LED 60 W lights and my laptop and television without any problems whatsoever. If you want more power just add another battery or two

I needed it to work at night and it only worked for 2 hours . I wish I would not have gotten the kit the day after I ordered it they dropped the price down $200.00 dollars . Then I had to spend $300 on a battery... The solar panels did look good upon top my shed but I took them down and put them in the shad . I had to go back to running the extension cord across the yard. I am unhappy with this ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 400-Watt Off-Grid Solar Panel Kit This kit is for the beginner solar enthusiast .... It is very easy to assemble ... It does not come with a battery, but, you can buy batteries (deep cycle marine batteries work well) just about anywhere .... It provides sufficient power to run a 16' above ground pool pump 24/7. ... But, those of you that are looking to power much larger loads should know that this is not going to work. ... The kit does not require any special tools and can be relocated with minimum effort .... I learned enough from putting this kit together and operating experimental projects that, I think, I can build one from scratch ...
