Answer:
Yes, this unit is designed to function as a freezer. You may need more than a single 100 watt panel system to provide enough power in that mode, possibly 200-300 watts depending on location and time of year.

Answer:
The 160 watt panel will provide enough power providing you limit the amount of exposure to temperatures above 80 degrees. The key factor is frequency of the compressor coming on, this will ultimately determine how long the battery can supply power when the sun is not providing power.

Answer:
Under normal usage conditions, this fridge draws approx. 250 watt-hours per day (approx. 37 watts instantaneous draw, with a duty cycle of approx. 6.75 hours per day). Your setup should be more than sufficient for this usage, although power will be limited in the winter months.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I am a long haul trucker so it gets constant use,so much better than thermo electric, there is a lot of room in this size ,it is heavy about 50lbs very well built thick insulation metal case straight forward easy to use controls the temp control seems to be accurate I have mine set at 34 mostly, it let's it go to about 39 then compressor kicks in and pulls in down to about 30 then kicks off and have not had any issues with freezing, it does keep temperature well does not have to kick on often and when it does it is quiet I highly recommend it September 1, 2015
