Before I go completely off the home-improvement rails, let me start by saying that for the price, these are useful work gloves if all you need is a little something between you and the dirt/grass/metal/wood/whatever-surface-you-are-working-with. They are very flexible and form-fitting for a work glove, so finesse things like picking up little screws or nuts is easy, which is nice. However, they have a mesh back that won't keep your hands dry or warm, so don't think of them as weather-ready gloves. Just a little grip and protection for your hands.
Now that's out of the way, let's talk about what these are great for: playing ultimate frisbee. They aren't tacky like receiver gloves, so they won't mess up your throws. They aren't slick against the plastic like fabric gloves (I'm looking at you, golf and racquetball gloves), so they won't mess you up your throws that way either. They're form-fitting, so your hands don't feel bulky and awkward when throwing or catching. They are a little more grippy than your bare skin, so they help just a bit with catching and with damp conditions. That said, remember that they are mesh on the back, so they are not going to keep you much warmer than bare hands and they can get so wet that they stop helping. Dewey grass? These are good. Active rain? Not going to help much. But for $5/pair, these are easily my favorite ultimate gloves so far for the value. And they come in a ton of sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL), so either gender can find a pair to fit. My wife (5'5", 115lbs) wears smalls and I (6'0", 175lbs) wear larges. I'm 7 and 3/4 inches from the base of my palm to the end of my middle finger, if that helps.

Good grip and quality. My wife works outside in the dirt with her backyard chickens and appreciates these work gloves.
