Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Chris Received damaged product
I ordered the machine for a meeting I had coming up. I received the product and the front door of the machine was completely shattered. Also, the mounts for the doors on the front are not mounted straight so the door that isn't broken doesn't fit appropriately.
Called Home Depot and they stated that they could not send me another one without receiving the old one back unless I wanted to pay for the product again and then get a refund when the damaged product is received back.
Really? Not my problem that the equipment was damaged when I received it. Also, now I wont have the machine for the meeting.

Item is well built and works great. Highly recommend using the prepackaged popcorn with the butter and kernels pack. Tried it first with popcorn oil and popcorn kernels bought separately and it tasted awful not the machines fault. Whole different world with the prepackaged popcorn. Machine is simple to built pretty much all you have to do it install the doors and the kettle.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by chargedparticles Solid Build Quality
We were hesitant about machines that used plastic/lexan knowing that they would easily scratch during use/cleaning and would become discolored/brittle over time from being exposed to heat. With this machine, there is no worry due to the stainless steel and tempered glass construction.
The machine has a solid build quality to it. The only problem we had was, since it was shipped (for the most part) fully assembled, some of the pieces, especially the door hinge parts attached to the frame, needed a bit of adjustment.
With the aid of a rubber mallet, a few washers, and a screwdriver, we were able to get everything pretty close to square but it still makes me think that it would have been better if it was shipped unassembled. Once the doors and tray are properly adjusted, the magnet does an excellent job of keeping the doors firmly closed.
The kettle heats up very quickly. As other reviewers have mentioned, if kits are being used, the best cooking method is to preheat the kettle first, and then dump the entire kit in at the same time. The amount of time they recommend for preheating with the oil portion already in is way too long and will cause it to smoke out.
Once the popping stops, the combination of the lamp and the heater in the deck keeps your popped corn warm and crisp all night long. The old maid tray is a nice feature, helping to keep kernels out of the corn and avoiding an unexpected dental visit.
After everything has had a chance to cool down, clean-up is quick & easy. A brief rub down with a damp sponge (rinsed as necessary) followed by a once-over with a dry towel gets the job done, even on the glass.
The only operational issue we've encountered thus far is the lid can sometimes get hung up on the support bracket, which will prevent popcorn from escaping the kettle and will quickly cause the stirring rod to jam. So you have to keep watch during the popping cycle lest your popcorn be scorched.
The rating that did not score as excellent would be the energy efficiency - this thing pulls 1.35kW of power so keep that in mind if you're using it on a 15A branch circuit, there will be little capacity for running much of anything else.
If you're still reading this, what are you waiting for?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MadHatter Great Features (however)
This machine has great features usually only found on high end machines such as all metal gears (you will be glad it does) and tempered glass doors (if you have ever had polycarbonate you will appreciate this). HOWEVER, there is a description error on Home Depot website (and some others) erroneously stating it is 1350 watts but in reality is only 860 watts. 860 is plenty for almost all applications shy of commercial popcorn sales at large venue concession booths but just be aware it is not the 1350 watts as claimed. Visit Great Northern website to verify what I am telling you. Again, a great product with great features but an inaccurate description at HD.

Little disappointed in the kettle. It does not have doors on the lid. The entire lid is pushed up by the popcorn. The design of the lid causes it to get caught on the screws and half the un-popped crenels come out. It look great, makes great popcorn, cost is OK, Just the lid and the wasted popcorn. I'm going to contact the company and see if there is a fix. If not I may return it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Verified Reviewer A good machine. Takes time to clean thoroughly, as it cannot be simply washed with soap and water .
Have only used it about five times for fundraising. Needs to be tried a few times to get to understand how to work it well. It looks professional and the popcorn smells great - it definitely draws a crowd. Full instructions are needed for the person operating it, so as not to get burned by the popcorn as the popcorn forces its way out of the kettle. Also watch out for the door. (I caught the door twice and have become conscious of the door) If the machine is placed up high and you lift your arm while the door of the machine is open, it will fall off the hinges and break - so take good care. It works well otherwise. Have paper towels handy because it can be greasy!
