The reel mower did a great job mowing. Easy to assemble and very easy to use. I would advise anybody looking for a reel mower to purchase this mower.

I needed a lawn mower for my backyard, which is a fair size but still in the grass-growing stage (i.e., there's still a lot of dirt). I was very skeptical about buying an old-fashioned reel mower, but the display was on clearance for just $50. Took it home, tried it on thick grass over 6", and it worked great. I couldn't believe it! I am very happy with my purchase, but I don't know if I would pay over $100 for a person-powered mower. Still, it's the perfect choice for the environmentally-conscious, for low-maintenance types, or for those with not a lot of storage space.

Very fast shipping! I got this mower to replace my gas lawn mower because I only have a very small yard (10' X 15'). Took it out of the box and it was ready to go in less than 10 minutes. It cut through some very long grass with barely any effort. I have mixed grasses so some patches I had to go over a couple of times but it was no problem to roll it back and forth, it rolls very smooth. Things I like most are that it's quite, rinses easily with a hose, light enough to carry and doesn't take up much space to store. But most of all my favorite part about this mower is no more exhaust. All you smell is fresh cut grass!!

I don't know what the other reviewers are complaining about. They must have it adjusted wrong - see owners manual.
This thing is not hard to push at all and it cuts SO well.
Sticks and other debris will stop the blades but picking up before you mow isn't a big deal after the first time.
Back to the cutting SO well part... Really, very smooth cut, I actually didn't know the mower could make such a big difference. It looks like a golf course. Also, I kind of hate to say it because I've dreaded mowing since I was 7 years old.. but it's actually kinda fun. No engine noise, no gas smell... Just watch your toes, those blades spin FAST

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by andrew excellent product
i purchased this item because i think it's silly to spend money on gas just to keep my yard in shape. it takes a little more effort than a gas powered mower, but you don't smell like exhaust, it looks better and it's cheaper. the best part is, i did research and these reel mowers are made in America, in a factory that produces 700-900 of them a day, at the same price as the chinese made scott's version. if you're concerned about the environment, your wallet, gas prices and having a nice lawn, this is the product for you.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by none Easy to use, yard looks great, economical
My son put it together in ten minutes, nice and sturdy, cuts the grass great, quiet, no gas or cord, just push it and go. I have a small yard and It's perfect for what I need it for. Just rinse off the blades after use let it dry, hit it with some WD40 and its ready for the next time you use it. I like it! Also I received it when they said I would receive it, very happy all around.

I have two other reel mowers; the Scott 20" and another no-name I bought on Ebay. At first, I was very disappointed at how it came; it was a return from someone who didn't want it. The one wheel cover is bent and I had thoughts of immediately sending it back. Then, the handles look nothing like they do in the iinstructions. But, I put it together in less than 10 minutes. I'm staying in North Carolina to watch my son's house while he's in Iraq and he has an acre (almost) of land. But I'm an American and not afraid of using a reel mower. I liked the Scott's, but if twigs get in-between the blades you have to stop and remove them. Yesterday, I used my son's Toro self-propelled gas mower in his huge front yard. It was so heavy I ached all night from pushing it. Not to mention the garage had such terrible fumes for hours afterwards. Last week, my other son told me he'd buy me an electric mower if I wanted it, but I researched the reel mowers and didn't want him to spend a lot of money so I settled on this one. Boy, this one is a pure joy! I know from experience that reel mowers don't cut or have a hard time cutting 12" weeds, and this one is no exception, but it handled so smoothly, and cut those pesky weeds better than my Scotts! I must say I really enjoyed every minute of it! There were old leaves and twigs on the ground, but they didn't bother this little mower at all! You will not be disappointed at all! My only real gripe is why the Home Depot doesn't carry these in their stores!

First time buying a manual reel mower. Easy assembly. Have a bermuda lawn and cutting it at the 1" setting. Was concern about how difficult it is to use but this mower works faster than my gas rotary mower. It is easy to push. The 7 blades are must in selecting a mower for southern lawns. The two biggest complaints I might have is because the blades are open, the clipping fly and particularly up and back. You end up walking into the clippings (something that doesn't occur with a rotary mower.) The other is the wheels make cutting close to fences and garden borders almost impossible. With the rotary mower I had to trim by these things with this mower I have to trim more area but it is insignificant.
