Mine fits on the outside of the downspout. I just slid it over, and secured it with 2 short aluminum screws. My gutters run along the top of my soffits to the downspout along the side of my house. Near to the ground, I connected the downspout extension to the downspout from the gutter and have the extension downspout directed away from our house. It sounds like you have a newer home, where I have seen the downspouts running below grade and drain out to the front curb area of the street? Read Less

Answer:
For correct water flow, you want the downspout going INTO this downspout extension. So, in your case, you'd fasten this downspout extension to the OUTSIDE of your 3x4 downspout. If this is confusing and you can visit a HD store, obtain a 3x4 downspout and this downspout extension. Once you see them side by side you'll know if this is what you need. Yes, it can be painted. It's a thin plastic. I'd use spray paint or exterior paint.

Answer:
No. It fits a 4 inch pipe. To fit a 3 inch pipe you'd need to purchase a 4-inch to 3-inch adapter. But this was an excellent question. Too bad the specifications didn't include this information.

No. Strictly Rectangle...I think they do have round extension downspouts in the Plumbing Section that can help you? Just not positive if one end is rectangle and the other end is round?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good selection foun what i needed I am pleased with the purchase of the downspout extension,it looks better and is safer than the heavy cement hazard sitting there. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well, like nothing else could. I used the green downspout extension on the side of my house. Because of it's flexibility and strength I was able to devert the water from my main gutter back under my deck, this required two 45 degree turns in the flexible downspout. I was able to attach the flexible downspout to the gutter on one end and the other round end directly into a round plastic PVC pipe under the deck. This took the water 10 foot away from the house and you can not see the PVC pipe under the deck. The only other way of deverting the water would be to cut a hole in my chain link fence and you would be able to see the 10 foot round PVC pipe. I will take better pictures from under the deck if I would win. It's like a crawl space under the deck, July 5, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Green Downspout Extension LIKE THE PRODUCT IDEA, DIDN'T THINK THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT WAS WORTH THE SELLING PRICE. June 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GOOD PURCHASE I needed to replace my downspouts and decided to add these flexible extensions to make sure water runoff is moved away from the foundation of the house, as is recommended. These flexible tubes have ends to fit the two most common size downspouts. That works for me and I love the green color to blend in with the surrounding landscaping. May 24, 2016
