Asked by: Juju
If you put soil inside of it, yes. If empty it will leave a dead sopt where the boards touch the grass.

Went together fairly easy, needed a few taps on some of the boards with a rubber hammer to get them fully in place. We used a few short brads in the bottom boards to keep it squared up while we were putting the two other layers on. The wood is cedar and smelled so nice while it was being put together. It is ready to plant, full of soil but it is still too cold in the mornings for the veggies.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good for kindling When the item arrived I began unpacking it and immediatelstarted repackaged for return. Several of the cedar boards had numerous knot holes. They also had cracks which looked like they would propagate quickly once the filled with soil. The dovetail joints looked like they were cut with a hatchet. Don't waste your money. You can put together a better looking, sturdier garden bed if you get some cedar fence boards for a few dollars each and some cedar 2x4s.this is not a quality product.

Very easy to assemble, slide the boards into the brackets. Just do not get overly powerful sliding the sides into the bracket, if they "stick" GENTLY knock them in. The brackets will split if the sides are forced in too hard. Sides are even with each other, and fit tightly on top of each other. You can make two 2x4 or one long 2X8. I kept a center one center board in to make the garden container stronger, and just piled the dirt over it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from rough cut - poor quality While it is a well thought out design the cedar pieces are very rough cut and don't fit well. The mortised groves in the end pieces look like they were chewed instead of cut and had to be cut out with a knife for the sides to fit in. Same with the top cap, very rough. Costs about the same to by 7 - 1x6 , 8' cedar boards and use pieces of PT 2x4 to make corner pieces it will look much better.

I was so excited to purchased 2 of these sets (diff size but same company/material) 3 summers ago. As reviews state very easy to put together, fabulous looking ! We did the whole thing of placing a weed barrier, had quality garden soil delivered, graveled a walk area around the garden and put up a low fence to keep critters out. This would have been our 4th summer but: the wood warped badly; came out of the joints causing soil to spill out; and there was a lot of rotting of the wood. There was NO WAY of fixing this. My son, the same year, purchased 10x8 & 4x8 2in boards, joined them together with corner decking brackets and his still looks like new ! We have removed this mess and did the same as him at half the cost. I guess this is good if you plan on a total redo of your garden every 3 years.
