Answer:
I installed mine on a raised platform of wood. I lined it with black mess weed control matt. We filled it with dirt and let it sit for some time , now the dirt has settled and we will soon be adding more dirt to level it out then plant it. I also installed some lattice on the back side for cucumbers and green beans so that they can climb up.

Answer:
It does not come with a bottom piece so you would need to build one yourself. Or the sides will hold in the soil and the bottom will just be in contact with the patio floor.

Second, water would" in this case, most likely drain our, but carry soil along with it, and I'm sure this would not make you happy. You could make it work if you were to put it on some sort of raised platform such as a kids pool with holes drilled in it for drainage. I would not recommend using plywood with holes, as this will rot over time. You could talk to a nursery and show them what your trying to do, and I'm sure they will help you with how to set it up to make you and your plants happy. Read Less

We stapled weed protection barrier to the bottom inside layer. This has kept the soil in place.

We were going to do that too. But decided against it. But you can lay garden cloth down and that will help with irrigation. You may want to lay a double layer for the patio.

I set mine up on ground. The soil stays in beautifully. Don't think it needs a base/bottom.

Hi Tustin, according to the instruction/assembly guide you will need 19 cu. ft of soil.
Take a look at each tier and how much each one takes to fill. Link below.

Answer:
I just bought just garden bed and I was wondering about the wood as well.
On the video they say the wood is chemical-free and that makes it perfect for growing all types of plants and vegetables.
If you think about it, than I wouldn't make any sense to seal it, right?
But I would like to make sure before assemble it too.
Can someone help us? If yes, what type of sealer should we use?
Thank you!

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 119 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed it up. and it turned out gorgeous! We shortened one bed by taking out he middle tier. This made a wider lower tier to fit in an "A-frame" cucumber trellis, and gave us 30 inch boards to put low herb beds in between, with trelisses for peas. We added stepping stones in the lower beds so I can walk in between and access the tomatos that are growing innthe top tiers. It makes our old vegetable garden along the fence an absoute centerpiece of the yard. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT PURCHASE EASY TO ASSEMBLE BY MYSELF. A MALLET WAS HELPFUL AND GLOVES ARE RECOMMENDED TO AVOID SPLINTERS. IT TOOK A LOT MORE SOIL TO FILL THAN WAS EXPECTED. May 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this garden bed! I love this garden bed. It was super easy to build and very good quality. The hardest part was lugging all the soil it required but once it was done it looked great. Has a good amount of space for planting what I want to plant. I definitely recommend. May 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Purchase Ever! Easy to assemble! This was really simple to install. The cedar is really nice, too and the garden looks sleek. Love March 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Perfect for our needs. Easy to assemble. Looks good. Smells good. Fits well on our patio. Allows us to plant lettuce, zucchini, squash, sweet potatoes, peppers, and tomatoes. May 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty just not practical I failed to evaluate this prior to purchase but the way these tiers sit the opening goes all the way to the ground so the amount of soil is huge while the space is limited for the flowers or garden. I have seen others that have a bottom in each tier. This does nit May 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lots of soil needed, but ok product. The raised bed is a first for me. I have just purchased my first home. I thought it would be taller and have sturdier wood. It does assemble very easily. I'm very happy about that. It takes tons of soil to fill it and does not have separation between the three tiers, but I still managed to plant without filling it to what it says you should fill it to. I would recommend this product for first time gardeners. The price was right! May 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product! I bought this for my mom for mother's day and put it together with help from my dad. Very easy to assemble. Wood is ok. We drill more holes to make it more secure. My mom loved it! May 18, 2016
