Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What a great deal! Great product! I have a brick patio and a large german shepherd. None of the artificial turf doggie bathrooms looked big or sturdy enough for my pup. So, I bought this lovely garden kit, some garden soil, and two rolls of sod. Now my dog has a place to go if I need to leave the house for a few hours. I know this product wasn't meant for this particular use but it was actually much cheaper than the artificial turf kits I looked at on Amazon! June 24, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by love my 2 stacks recycled raised beds I ordered two Greenland Gardener 42 in. x 42 in. Raised Bed Garden Kits and got them fast less than a week by shipping to my home. Easy to install two together without instruction but problems on corners. We had metal braces to hold both stack corners together. {See pix} Very good price for good quality recycled raised bed to last long time. I have them for one month and half. So far I am very pleased. June 23, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 6" too shallow a raised bed I have bought this same brand in other sizes before, and they were all 8" deep. It was my own failure to notice that these boxes were only 6" deep that makes this purchase disappointing for me. The Greenland Gardener products are great for the money, but 6" is just not deep enough to grow a wide variety of vegetables, which is my main interest. I'll stack some of them two high to make easier-accessible 12" deep boxes to accommodate the deeper-rooted vegetables, which means I'll need to buy more to have the number of beds I wanted. At this price, that's do-able. The 6" deep beds are fine for lettuces, radishes and other short cycle edibles. The beauty of smaller beds, if you have room for a bunch of them, is that each can be dedicated to a single "crop", therefore simplifying planning for successive plantings and eliminating concerns about what grows complimentarily next to each other within a box. The down side is that I need 2.5' space between them and the yard is only so big. If you're using Square Foot Gardening method, these work fine even though they're not 4 x 4; I tapped in brass nails at roughly 10" intervals about an inch down from the top on the sides of the boards, wound nylon cord across the boxes and treated the resulting sections like square feet, though it was the 8" depth that allowed me to do so successfully. In a 6" deep box, I'd cut back the number of plants per section. The material is not as indestructible as it might seem - I have broken a board by leaning on it as support while working in the beds - but after 3 seasons, my GG beds are holding up nicely and I'm pleased with the investment. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great unit These assemble in about five seconds, and seem sturdy. I stacked two sets and secured them with brackets (shown). I think they'll work out better than the Frame-It-All plastic corner pieces I bought previously (Home Depot Item #100588417). I had to buy wood for those ones, and it's already rotting a bit at the bottom after one season (I used pine because I didn't want chemicals from treated wood leaching into my veggie garden). While the Frame-It-All pieces lend themselves to various shapes (i.e., hexagonal, etc.), I really prefer these units. I'll see how long they last. February 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Planters Sturdy materials and easy to assemble. So many people (including me) stacked them to make deeper planter beds. It took extra hardware and effort. It would be great if they could have a built-in connector that would allow us to snap the corner pieces together. April 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to assemble Like everyone else, I found this easy to assemble. Took hint from another reviewer and stacked two secured with mender plates on the corners (see pics). That was easy as well. I only gave it four stars because the bottom wall bows out a little bit with the dirt in it & direct sunshine. I do not see any cracks after twoo weeks. Loosing dirt is not an issue because I lined the whole thing with landscaping fabric. Perhaps additional mender plates on the sides would solve this. The value is excellent - I did not want to make a huge investment since this is the first time doing a vegetable garden. April 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by EASY BREEZY Received the product and assembled in two minutes. Took me longer to open the packages than it did to assemble them. Overall it is a basic raised garden bed. Nothing flashy or complicated. The corner braces aren't the most sturdy, but nothing a screw can't fix. So far I'm pleased with the purchase. April 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great price, easy to use I ordered four of these beds and they arrived a few days later. As others have mentioned, they are easy to put together. The only tool that you need is a knife to cut the tape on the boxes. I like the smaller size (42 inches vs. 48 for most raised beds). You do have to have the ground level because there is no hardware keeping them together. I've only had them a few weeks, so I can't speak to their durability, but I liked them so much that I ordered four more today. April 30, 2013
