Customer Questions & Answers

GW 24052 What diameter sticks does this chipper process and is there any safety mechanism such as an automatic shut off?

Asked by: Bobbie
One and 3/8 inches is its rated capacity--and that's what will fit through the feed slot. If it overheats or gets something caught in the blades, it'll pop its built-in circuit breaker and you'll need to wait a bit and/or clear the jam before resetting.

Customer Reviews

0.375 in. 15 Amp Electric Chipper is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm very pleased with this chipper/shredder I purchased this electric chipper/shredder after considering a gas powered unit. I chose the electric unit because it is lighter in weight and easy to move around. I have seasonal trimmings from crepe myrtle trees and it easily handles them. I use the mulch produced in my flower beds and that saves purchasing new mulch every year. My only recommendation would be to take your time and don't overload this chipper/shredder and you will have good results.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap Machine; you get what you pay for Belt and pulley failed after 3rd or 4th use, while doing some yard shredding. Replaced the belt and pulley and now the motor shaft broke off. I do not recommend this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This was alot smaller than I exected, but good for the money Not for country living..... I, for some reason, expected a bigger mouth on this creature, but it will serve the purpose all the same, just with a bit more time. I was hoping for a monster, and a monster it is not. I have two acres of woods I was hoping to clean up and based on previous reviews I thought it would do the job, but as it turns out, I am going to be happy with getting our immediate yard cleaned up of small twigs and VERY small branch debris. Clean up after a large storm bringing down medium size branches will not work with this model. If you have more than a city yard, this machine will never do. But if you just want to chew the small twigs up out of your yard and reuse them, this just might be for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for small branches. This does just what I wanted it to do. Something bigger and faster would be better, but I don't want to pay a lot more for that, since I only have one acre to keep up. Granted, that acre has 10 full-grown shade trees and about 70 wind break trees and hedge bushes, but the winds and storms rarely break off branches too big for this machine. It's a little time consuming for a big pile of branches, but I get rid of the pile and get free mulch out of it. The machine's size makes it easy to move and store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it .... After reading the reviews I took a deep breath and ordered it. Glad I did. Knowing that it is a small machine and not over pressing its limits it is great. I pruned 12 fruit trees and had tons of branches and the chipper turned 90% of it into useful chips. Yep, I am a happy chipper ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real valuable tool. I had saved my branches for a year. I recieved the chipper on Monday. I worked two days, six hours per day and the chipper performed great. I split the bigger branches and it chipped everything. I had enough mulch to supply all of my yards trees and bushes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 1-3/8 in. 15 Amp Electric Chipper Runs good. Does exactly what I expected it to. We had to trim a lot of trees on our street which left piles of tree limbs. I cut off pieces greater that 1 1/4 inch to burn, and chipped the rest. It all went quick and easy. Great machine

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not exactly what I needed The machine works great HOWEVER - the opening is thin at the top and will get clogged easily. It has a tough time with items that were not completely dry. OK for small twigs !
