If you are patient, this is a groovy little helper. I was impatient and crammed wet branches into the chute and the little bugger shut down. Good thing. But the front easily opens, though not without deliberately unscrewing a handle. Debris can be removed and the front screwed shut and you're off and running again. I love the scent of fresh wood permeating the surroundings as it is being mulched. I am going to try tossing some eucalyptus into the mix and see how it changes the scent

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Eddie Cheap Machine; you get what you pay for
Belt and pulley failed after 3rd or 4th use, while doing some yard shredding.
Replaced the belt and pulley and now the motor shaft broke off.
I do not recommend this product.

Not for country living.....
I, for some reason, expected a bigger mouth on this creature, but it will serve the purpose all the same, just with a bit more time. I was hoping for a monster, and a monster it is not. I have two acres of woods I was hoping to clean up and based on previous reviews I thought it would do the job, but as it turns out, I am going to be happy with getting our immediate yard cleaned up of small twigs and VERY small branch debris. Clean up after a large storm bringing down medium size branches will not work with this model.
If you have more than a city yard, this machine will never do. But if you just want to chew the small twigs up out of your yard and reuse them, this just might be for you.

I look forward to my first use of this machine after the snow melts and everything dries out. The instructions that came with it referred to the two screws which were to be attached "with a screwdriver". There were no actual screws, but small bolts. A really cool tool was included to use in tightening these bolts, but there was not a word about it in the instructions. I am an instruction reader, so this factor was slightly off-putting. Figured it out quickly, however, as well as how to attach the bag, which was not mentioned in the instructions at all.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Notch Good little chipper for the price.
When they say no green wood, they mean it. They say, "no bigger around than 1 3/8". I would say no bigger around than your thumb. It is pretty safe, doesn't take up a lot of room in the shed and does a great job on small branches and debris. It is very slow. Right now, I'm cleaning up about 20 years worth of sticks and twigs (looks like a beaver lives in our back yard) and it is soldiering through. I'm almost half way. It is more like a disposal on steroids than a wood chipper but it works fine if you follow the instructions.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by chipper Great for small branches.
This does just what I wanted it to do. Something bigger and faster would be better, but I don't want to pay a lot more for that, since I only have one acre to keep up. Granted, that acre has 10 full-grown shade trees and about 70 wind break trees and hedge bushes, but the winds and storms rarely break off branches too big for this machine. It's a little time consuming for a big pile of branches, but I get rid of the pile and get free mulch out of it. The machine's size makes it easy to move and store.
