Well designed nice running tool. Seem to handle heavy St. Augustine grass well. After an internal rubber flap, I guess a safety device, fell off, it worked much better than before. Before it choked up, but without the rubber flap, it wind-rolled the debris nicely. Worked well with 100 ft. of #12 cord. After having been Briggs and Stratton's youngest authorized dealer some 60 years ago, it did not seem right to run a yard tool that did not use gasoline. With age comes tolerance.

Purchased it on recommendation of high volume of satisfied customers. Add us to that list. Machine is easy to assemble. Lots of plastic, but of high quality. Light weight so is easy to move around. My wife dethatched while I raked. It was simple, quick and thorough. Follow this 3 step program: 1. Mow your lawn using the second lowest setting on your mower. 2. Bag or rake, removing the cut grass. 3.Set the dethatcher to it's highest setting and go. Be sure to remember that on turns or if pulling backward tilt the unit back on its rear wheels. Just finished 10,000 sq feet with no problems. It pulls the thatch out without tearing the yard apart. Motor does not pull down; tines are not wearing out. Expect it to last for many years. Thanks Greenworks for a great machine.

So far so good. Just did a small area until the weather cools off and I can take advantage of the product at full force....Very easy to use and did a great job in the area I did.

A product that actually works as expected. Pulls up much thatch. Make sure you mow first. I then mowed back over pulled thatch at a higher setting and cleaned most up. Make sure to place the cord holder on the middle handle bar before assembling to the product. That is the only thing the otherwise simple and easy instructions don't mention.

THIS MACHINE IS INCREDIBLE...GREAT BUY...COULD NOT BE BEATEN, NO MATTER THE MONIES SPENT. IT GAVE ME A NEW LAWN, PERIOD. THE LAWN IS ONLY 1500 SQ. FT. OR SO, AND I HAD THREE LARGE BAGS OF HAY-LIKE DRIED GRASS. NOW, THE LAWN CAN BREATHE AGAIN. ONLY PROBLEM, IS THAT I WAITED TOO LONG BEFORE THE INVESTMENT. THANKS AGAIN TO GREENWORKS AND TO HOME DEPOT.....

I had a Sears Craftsman dethatcher I used twice and it died. The Greenworks model is so much easier to use and clean. It really handles nicely and I really like the padded handle. I have severe arthritis and that really helps. Wish they would come out with a bag holder to purchase with the dethatcher-would make a good combo. I would recommend to anyone, like me with multiple medical problems. Easy to put together, easy to use and phone calls to customer service were handled efficiently as I had some issues I just wanted clarification on.

I didn't know there was a solution to the poor quality grass on my front lawn. The thought of manually de-thatching with tugging and raking was off-putting. The Greenworks 14" electric dethatcher changed that.
It arrived within two days of an on-line order. Set-up was easy- basically, attaching upper and lower handles to the body of the dethatcher. I used the pre-set height adjustment of the tines and it worked fine. You push it like a lawn mower and dead grass/thatch just flows over the rubber flap in back. A grass catcher is not included so you will have to rake. The noise level is relatively quiet. It's lightweight- just over 30 lbs. -but powerful. It did a very good job of removing the thatch and dead grass.

I was reluctant to purchase this product due to wide differences in reviews. I carefully read some of the positive reviews and followed their recommendations. These included the correct extension cords, power outlets and settings on the unit (as described on previous reviews) . I had no problems. I have a small front lawn and medium size rear lawn. In the beginning I was careful not to run the unit for more than 15 minutes, to avoid over heating, but I found this unnecessary. This unit worked flawlessly. It worked beyond my expectation. This unit helped me avoid back breaking work and saved a lot of time. I highly recommend it. If you follow the recommendations you will have no problems. By the way,a YouTube video suggestion I found was really helpful. Atfter dethatching with the unit, use your lawn mover to pick up thatch left behind. The lawn mover with the attached bag easily picks up the thatch. Makes clean up much easier. I don't regret buying this unit and you won't either. I loved it and you will too.
