Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worked one day then died Had some medium size tree removal to take care of around my house. While it worked, it cut through everything with no problems. It is rather heavy on the bar oil use. Then for no reason, the chain stopped moving forward. I could manually move it backwards, but no more forward movement. Getting ahold of Green Works is not easy either. They're only open 8-5 and even then sometimes they don't answer, and the support forms on their website are completely useless. Filled the thing out twice and never heard back. December 27, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stopped working . Stopped working today and smoke came out the vents. I have owned the saw 19 days . It has failed . I liked everything about the saw . It has a great design , but unfortunately it started losing power and then started to smoke out the vents and stopped. pix September 14, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great saw for the money The first use right out of the box the saw performed flawlessly. I have used it to cut some large trees and branches it cuts through like butter. I know it being electric you have to carry around the electric cord but compared to trying to pull start gas saws i will carry that cord all day long. November 1, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This saw performs well. The Green Works 18 in. Electric Chain Saw is so much quieter than my gas saw, and is much easier to start. It has a great chain oiler and cut thru seasoned oak with ease. It seems to be a good value at a good price. September 7, 2011
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great while it worked, for an hour I had a similar experience to Derwood and fishingfast, except mine lasted about an hour or two, and I cut about 8 trees up to about 9 inches in diameter. Then it stopped. The motor ran fine, but the chain would not move. It was not stuck, as the drive sprocket did not turn either. I took it back to Home Depot, got an instant refund, and ordered another identical saw in hopes it will last, because it was an excellent saw while it worked. I recommend it because of its potential, though if you haven't got time to lose returning and replacing it, I would suggest looking at something else. August 14, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great $100 investment ! The only bad thing I can say bad about this product. Is something broke inside the case and it stopped working. It worked flawless in cutting a full cord & a half of wood up to 20" before the problem. With the 90 return policy being part of the 4 year warranty. The Home Depot let me return it back to the store & refunded me the full purchase price. With out hesitation I'm buying a replacement. Of the exact same saw ! May 8, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Electric Chain Saw 18" Love this chain saw used it to fell a tree that crushed my backyard fencing. Was easy as pie to use no problems what so ever. Would recomend to anyone very reliable. October 25, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Quick to break This chain saw is lighter and easier to use than my gas power chain saw, however it is made with plastic. It lasted about 3 hrs of light cutting of branches and logs about 8" in dia. then something broke inside and the chain stop moving. Glad I purchased from home depot were returning is easy.
