Steel security doors can cost over $1000. This door has a lot to offer for under $300. You get a summer screen, two winter glass panes, and all the hardware for installation. Be sure to inspect before accepting as the packing is minimal.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Joe Header cap was damaged, but still happy
This is a good looking / solid door (especially for the price.) Unfortunately, the header cap was really warped and it took 3 weeks for me to get a replacement from the manufacturer. Other than that, no complaints.

Our neighbor installed the door for us, so I can't comment on that aspect of that but he didn't say anything about it being difficult. We do love this door. Adds to the house and I love being able to leave the front door open and let some air in since you can switch out the top screen/glass.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by roxy I LOVE THIS DOOR , BUT!
After my 36" x 80" 501 Series Storm Door was Installed by Home Depot and the Installer had left my House, I noticed that, there was no Trim Strip that matched up to where the spots Locks for my Kwikset Deadbolt and Entry Knob Locks to slide into. So, the installer had just left my locks resting against my original Wood Door Frame, which is not very effective when it comes to Security. I went back to home Depot and asked if the Door should have come with an 80" Trim Plates, that would line up to the section where the Locks would be installed? They didn't seem to know the answer. So, I said, was I supposed to buy my own Lock Plates for the Locks to slide into? They didn't seem to know that either. Home Depot told me to call the installer, but I haven's been able to get a hold of him yet. Can I buy a double Kickset Lockset Plate for the Locks to work properly?

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bob Good quality
Home Depot installers put this door in because the frame was not perpendicular or parallel (more like a rhombus). It involved shims and a second person to assist. Would have been impossible for me without help. That being said, the door is solid, pending some longer personally attached wood screws into the door frame for the damper due to dry rot. Not faulting the installers. They didn't have the right length screws to hold the damper securely to the door frame. Otherwise, the door fits well despite the difficulties involved in the installation. I provided the deadbolt and door knob as the door does not come with that hardware. They fit perfectly into the latch plates. Very satisfied with the whole job.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nick Looks great, but not sure how secure it is
I have mixed feelings about the door. One the one hand it looks great compared to the other security doors I've seen. On the other, I've had a number of issues with it since I decided to install it myself.
-- I ordered store delivery because it was the cheapest option. It took them like 2 weeks to deliver it and then the package was severely damaged on the outside. And by the time I got it home (just a couple of miles) I realized it was also not properly secured within the package.
-- Installation instructions are a nightmare. I don't think the person who wrote them even saw the door themselves or tried to follow. I do all house projects myself, but this is the first one I thought was unnecessarily complex and could have been made easier if the manufacturer put a bit more effort into it.
-- The door looks sturdy, but I don't think it's actually secure for two reasons. First, the say the glass insert is mounted to the door frame doesn't seem to be able to sustain even moderate impact. I think that even shaking it for a couple of minutes will just make the insert slide off the hooks it is supported by. Second, the way it attaches to the jamb is a bit questionable. I understand if you live in a city it's unlikely someone will just unscrew your door and take off the frame. But I can imagine that in a location where they have a couple of minutes where noise is not an issue, the door can just be unmounted completely with not much effort. I'm not an export in breaking into places though, so it's my personal unprofessional opinion solely based on visual observation.
So, if this was another product, I would have returned it and looked for a better one, but after spending for much effort and time on it I just don't want to deal with it. It's not perfect, but it makes my place 10% more secure than it was, which is potentially good enough.

The locks on the door can be easily opened. The security doors really does not provide protection.
