Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by roxy I LOVE THIS DOOR , BUT!
After my 36" x 80" 501 Series Storm Door was Installed by Home Depot and the Installer had left my House, I noticed that, there was no Trim Strip that matched up to where the spots Locks for my Kwikset Deadbolt and Entry Knob Locks to slide into. So, the installer had just left my locks resting against my original Wood Door Frame, which is not very effective when it comes to Security. I went back to home Depot and asked if the Door should have come with an 80" Trim Plates, that would line up to the section where the Locks would be installed? They didn't seem to know the answer. So, I said, was I supposed to buy my own Lock Plates for the Locks to slide into? They didn't seem to know that either. Home Depot told me to call the installer, but I haven's been able to get a hold of him yet. Can I buy a double Kickset Lockset Plate for the Locks to work properly?

I bought 2 of these doors for the front and back of my home for Security purposes. I thought they were good door until a week later I noticed you can not keep the screws tight enough to hold the glass in on top and bottom. they keep backing out and the tabs flipping down. One month in the tabs broke and I found out the tabs are just plastic, I mean really plastic tabs to hold a Glass door in for a Security door. Now the tabs are broke all you have to do is push the glass forward and stick your hand inside and unlock both dead bolts. Alot of good this does for security. I would not buy these again or Recommend these doors to anyone. Spend a little more money get a better door and check the screws and tabs that hold the windows in make sure they are not cheap made like these are.....The Doors are strong with heavy gauge metal but it completely defeats the purpose when they put a plastic screw in the windows. For 2 dollars more worth of screws it could have been a great door. Now the Screw holes are strip out and no way to replace them with good metal screws and tabs.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Joe Header cap was damaged, but still happy
This is a good looking / solid door (especially for the price.) Unfortunately, the header cap was really warped and it took 3 weeks for me to get a replacement from the manufacturer. Other than that, no complaints.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Richard Not really a security door. The bars are spaced to far apart. Other wise a very nice door
The door looks really great. It's just that the space between the bars, when the screen is on ,a person can cut the screen and stick their arm in and unlock the door. I said no to the recommend part because I wouldn't recommend it as security. Just a nice door.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LandMime Good solid door.
This seemed to be plenty solid enough, none of the bowing problems of cheaper ones.
I liked the added security cover for the lock side. It helps to secure the locks from a crow bar.
The only negatives were the closure and spring directions. They did not include the exact set up for the door I purchase, so I had to guess where to attach the closure to the storm door. Works okay though.
The spring hardware directions did not match the hardware included, and the suggested pilot bit sizes were too small. Using the small suggested bit size you will stripe the phillips head screws trying to get them in. I had to go up at least 3/64th in size.

Home Depot installers put this door in because the frame was not perpendicular or parallel (more like a rhombus). It involved shims and a second person to assist. Would have been impossible for me without help. That being said, the door is solid, pending some longer personally attached wood screws into the door frame for the damper due to dry rot. Not faulting the installers. They didn't have the right length screws to hold the damper securely to the door frame. Otherwise, the door fits well despite the difficulties involved in the installation. I provided the deadbolt and door knob as the door does not come with that hardware. They fit perfectly into the latch plates. Very satisfied with the whole job.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nick Looks great, but not sure how secure it is
I have mixed feelings about the door. One the one hand it looks great compared to the other security doors I've seen. On the other, I've had a number of issues with it since I decided to install it myself.
-- I ordered store delivery because it was the cheapest option. It took them like 2 weeks to deliver it and then the package was severely damaged on the outside. And by the time I got it home (just a couple of miles) I realized it was also not properly secured within the package.
-- Installation instructions are a nightmare. I don't think the person who wrote them even saw the door themselves or tried to follow. I do all house projects myself, but this is the first one I thought was unnecessarily complex and could have been made easier if the manufacturer put a bit more effort into it.
-- The door looks sturdy, but I don't think it's actually secure for two reasons. First, the say the glass insert is mounted to the door frame doesn't seem to be able to sustain even moderate impact. I think that even shaking it for a couple of minutes will just make the insert slide off the hooks it is supported by. Second, the way it attaches to the jamb is a bit questionable. I understand if you live in a city it's unlikely someone will just unscrew your door and take off the frame. But I can imagine that in a location where they have a couple of minutes where noise is not an issue, the door can just be unmounted completely with not much effort. I'm not an export in breaking into places though, so it's my personal unprofessional opinion solely based on visual observation.
So, if this was another product, I would have returned it and looked for a better one, but after spending for much effort and time on it I just don't want to deal with it. It's not perfect, but it makes my place 10% more secure than it was, which is potentially good enough.

I purchased a new home. It had been recently renovated, but came without security doors. I ordered and had these installed through Home Depot, which took way longer than it needed to, and communication wasn't the best; HOWEVER, now that the doors are finally installed, they look great. Even better, I feel much safer in my new home now!
