I purchased two of these doors in brown from Home Depot and they were installed by Home Depot contractor. They were beautiful when installed, but by the second year, in spite of recommended maintenance slowly stopped closing properly. We also had a piece just break off the decorative front on one and the closure and locks began to stick on both. Now, ten years later, the doors don't close smoothly and one of the locks sticks so badly that we have to close it with a hook and catch and the other we have to leave unlocked. I saved in order to buy them and was so pleased with these doors when they were installed, but they have not worn well at all and if I could afford to, I would replace both of them. I dont think I would choose this product or installation again.

I like the door but door seal is flimsy and doesn't adhere to frame. No strike plate, and my door was opened within one week of having it. Go figure....

Great door, had some minor shipping damage (one of the glass retainers was broken, but there were two spares in the hardware kit) and paint scuffing, but door looks fantastic. Was relatively easy to install, once I figured out how to install the supplied strike plate.

The security door is beautiful. We had it installed, the person installed it had no problem. Overall, almost took him an hour, removing the old one and installing the new door. Thank you, highly recommended it.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by steelside Strong but expensive storm door
I purchased this online to replace a poorly designed storm door that rotted.
Sturdy and reasonably secure
Arrived with obvious shipping damage (Grisham immediately replaced after initial call)
Requires some careful thought before installation
Has some questionable design flaws related to provided hardware
The delivery on a large, otherwise empty truck came fast, in just days after my order. The carton had obvious shipping damage and closer inspection showed damage to the hinge side frame, header and screen. These were all twisted as if someone had allowed the box to come down hard. What I didn't notice was that the window had shifted pushing down on the screws that hold the window in place. This bent and stripped the screw holes on the heavy steel frame. I had to use my own larger self tapping screws with washers to hold the window securely in place. If I had this to do over again, I would have refused the entire shipment.
I purchased this specific door because twenty years ago, I had the same door installed (by a competitor that no longer sells it) on the front entry of the house and was very satisfied. Unfortunately, the design of the door has changed and a different type of latch and locking mechanism is required. This door does not have the security pins the old one had and the standard deadbolt does not seem as secure as the older slim, mortise type lock.
Installation was not difficult but I had to use some of my own larger, stainless steel self tapping screws to anchor the metal strip between the windows since this is where the door closer is attached. The provided hardware was insufficient and allowed the strip to shift each time the door was opened and closed. The extender at the bottom of the door was not long enough for my situation. I had to put in an additional threshold. This was not necessary with the storm door because it had a longer extender.
I was surprised to see Made in China stamped on the box since I thought the door was made in this region where I live. All in all, the door looks great and is a strong storm door. However, I would not install it simply as a security door without some enhancements to the design. It is indeed a pricey door given all the headaches it provided.
Grisham needs to work on its web site. Currently, it is a series of pdfs of the installation instructions and black and white images of the doors without much explanation of the differences between their products.
If I had it to do over again, I would have chosen a different door from Grisham or perhaps a competitor's.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Franky Beautiful door - terrible company
Door came with a lock installed but without a key. Had to pay a locksmith to come at 6pm on a Saturday evening to drill out the lock. When the door was finally installed the closer is not strong enough to support it. The company is closed on weekends and doesn't answer calls or return calls. Will keep you posted on the out come. Won't be surprised if nothing comes out of it. Let's see if Home Depot stands behind the product!
