Answer:
Thank you for contacting us. While the foam in the SpeedVault is not removable, it can be modified by cutting with a blade such as a Xacto knife in order to accommodate non-standard contents.

Answer:
Fingerprint security will always be more secure than key code. Someone may stumble upon the right key code but unless they have your fingers, they won't get in the biometric safe.

Answer:
Thank you for contacting us. Though it would be highly unlikely that a toddler could correctly guess or randomly key the code on the digital version, the biometric version adds an additional layer of security above the digital and is more secure.

The biometric safe and the keypad safe are two different safes. You have to decide which one would be best for you.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 19 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Reliable yet inconsistent Only works on the first go about 70 percent of the time for me, but can get if to open if I switch to a different programmed finger. So program a couple of fingers on each hand and practice frequently so you know what to expect should an emergency arises. It opens with an audible clunk, it is not silent. The light that comes on when opening shines down on the weapon and is a nice touch. I do trust that this will work when I need it to, it just may take a couple of tries to get it open. Not sure about the wife, she doesn't think she could recall a password under duress, so I chose this one. I would recommend this product if you think you 10 seconds to open, not just 2 or 3 seconds. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Biometric vault Very happy with this product. Pretty easy to install although I did have some user error. There was one little hinge piece to keep the door on that I was missing when I was putting it back together. I just put it in the wrong place in couldn't see it and thought I had all the parts. Once I got that it was a snap. No failures thusfar on the fingerprint scanner. Just remember to go fast when scanning them in. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product. This is perfect for quick access and concealment as well as keeping the weapon securely away from intruders and children.. the biometric takes away the need to temembet a combo if a stressful situation comes up. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent safe! Keeps your firearm secured until you need it! The GunVault SpeedVault is one of the best on the market. It keeps your firearm secure and out of reach, and within a couple seconds, provides access when you need it! No codes to remember, no awkward angle from which to retrieve the gun. This safe pops open with a finger swipe and the gun is presented to you in the ready position. Plus it has a light to illuminate the weapon in case you're in the dark! This safe is worth every penny! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Safe Works fantastic easy to install. Holds handgun firmly and I like that you can log multiple fingerprints August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good safe. Press softly when programming Ordered this safe about a month ago. I was frustrated at first bc I couldn't get the biometric to accept my finger print, I called customer service at gun vault and they were useless. She told me that I'm part of the small percentage of people that it's just unable to read my prints, whatever that means. I was getting rdy to box it up and send it back when my wife says let me try. She programmed her print the first try. She watched me do it again and said no you have to scan softer. She was right lol. Using her method it accepting my next two prints. I finger print people for a living, I've never pressed this soft on any other software but go figure. Also practice opening it several times, like 100 plus bc it is pretty particular on how easy it is to open. I can usually get it opened in about 10 seconds max so I like it and I'm keeping it. Light mechanism works well, I have it bedside w a glock 21 as we speak. Good safe once you can get it to read your prints. March 22, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Major flaw The safe design is fantastic, but it has 1 major flaw. The fingerprint reader just doesn't work well. I have a Barska biometric safe that works the 1st time 100% of the time. The reader on this safe is a swipe type that can take multiple attempts to get the safe to open. This completely defeats the purpose of the safe. I would buy this safe with the push button combo but would never recommend the biometric version. It is a shame because as staed earlier, Barska has proven there are goor readers on the market. Why would GunVault choose to put such a poor reader on their safe? January 5, 2016
