12 lb. PowerStrike Sledge with Fiberglass Handle is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes you into Superman. I might not be able to do everything I used to do but with this sledgehammer I've got admit I can do almost anything We beat up an old cast-iron tub so bad I thought it would turn back to iron ore. The pieces ended up being no more than about 18" x 18" which is a lot easier to carry out of the bathroom then an entire tub and a lot less time than using a recip saw. Easy to grip when sweating. Predictable impact and Force like no other that needs Crushing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sledge Hammer My husband used this Hart sledge hammer to help demo a wall in our home we recently purchased. He loved it - it definitely made the job much easier. It's definitely a high quality sledge hammer - the handle has a nice grip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well; it's heavy . . . The head has a different shape (the ‘Powerstrike’ feature) that really adds to the quality of this sledge hammer. The tool is very heavy, to be honest I can’t use it myself, but my son and husband both like the weight and it’s a great assist in getting the job done. The guys really like the wider striking head that adds to the quality of the tool with a wider strike. The handle is very nice and the length also adds to the strike force. It makes shorter work of heavy duty jobs that would take a lot longer and more swings with a lighter weight sledge. That’s a good thing because, like I said, it’s heavy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Workhorse of a Sledge If you have ever used a sledge hammer or an ax or really any other tool with a wood handle, you need to reconsider. I am now using this PoweStrike Sledge Hammer with a Fiberglass handle and it works in a couple of ways. I have had not issues with breaking and the handle is much more comfortable grip as well as reducing some of the shock that travels through my old wood handled one. The funky end of the hammer delivers more impact and "breaking" power per swing while I'm doing demolition. This is a really well constructed and well thought out product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Sledge is No Joke! This is one of the best sledge hammers I've ever used! I've used it on a variety of different materials from concrete to cast iron and it just destroys everything in it's path with ease. This is the 12 lb. model, so it is on the heavy side but the "powerstrike" face of this hammer does most of the work for you so it doesn't require as much force to get the job done. The grip is comfortable and the build quality is excellent, I would highly recommend this anyone.

I am a firemen and have used this sledge for months now and I have to say it has exceeded my expectations. The handle is great it is comfortable and solid fiberglass with a rubber bottom for excellent grip. The head of the sledge has a large face on one side and a smaller rounded side on the other. The smaller concave side is great for creasing Clemens or metal. I highly recommend this sledge it has worked great for busting doors, concrete, brick and wood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks too nice to start hammering things with it Overall a nice well built sledge hammer. The two different size faces are nice if you need to hit something with more force in a smaller area (should help in breaking concrete). At 12 lbs I don't expect much full swings with this, the 8 lbs would probably be a better choice for that. The handle is a nice plastic coated fiberglass, with an overmolded rubber grip. The rubber section is a little short to get two hands on. But I don't think this is really going to swung with two hands on the end of the handle. The plastic is pretty soft so it will be getting dinged and nicked anytime it hits anything. A wood handled sledge would too, but not as easily. The handle does deaden most of the vibration. There is also a good size collar to to protect handle. The is one spot on the handle that look like there should be a label or something in it. I may just be the area where they injected the plastic to overmold the fiberglass. Does not affect the use, just looks a little odd.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sledge hammer I recently used this exact powerstrike 12 pound hammer to help my dad split wood. The large face allows for solid contact and the fiberglass handle minimized any shock. Gets the job done.
