Rated 1 out of 5 by Chinese Pot Metal I broke the claws off two of these hammers within two days. Back to the American made hammer I've been using for 8 years. February 25, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Meh… I bought this hammer because I liked the design and all of the bell and whistles it had. I don’t use a hammer all of the time, but this week I am! Anyway, the hammer won’t hold the nail in the “Auto Magnetic Nail Start”. Every time the nail touches the wood using “AMNS” the nail dings off the head of the hammer. The first one I bought had some extra coating used to protect the hammer head, that was hardened on the magnet. So I took it back. The next one looked ok, same problem. The place where the head of the nail sits is not flat. It will never work. So, I bought a Estwing with the same handle, a little heaver, and with the main feature I use(AMNS). And it works like a charm. If you don’t care about (AMNS) this hammer may work for you. But it is not for me. -Patrick C. August 10, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by interesting design This line of hammers using a very old name in framing hammers, dont think it is related to the old made in america Hart hammer line. That said the hammer has combined several features like a side of head nail puller, and the other side of the head is flat for striking a nail in limited clearance. the head also has a hole behind the face for "bending rebar" which sounds like a good way to break the handle! I believe this 23 oz version is on the heavy side, would get a lighter one if I had it to do over. Since I am a collector, I will be purchasing one each of the steel and fiberglass handled versions as well, will leave a review on each as I do. January 22, 2011
