Answer:
Sorry, I should have said the "Installation Guide" for which there is a link. I see now that it is probably the wrong one for this product.

Answer:
There are no instructions. You have an option to attach to the bottom of a column (nail or screw) or just set the post/column on it and the column weight keeps it in place. if the support surface is not level, put a shim under one or more of the plinth's contact points

May this plinth be used between a wood column and a tongue and groove wood porch floor?

They look like they are for concrete porch floors and would damage a wood floor.

Answer:
Yes, however, the plinths have 3/16' contact points which will make and indentation in the T&G wood. That is both good and not good. Good in that the plinth will then NOT move. Not good in that the indentations will be permanent

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 4 inch plinth review I was very pleased with the purchase of 6 plinths even though I had to drive 75 miles to pick them up from a distant store in Alexander City Alabama. It is disappointing that HD has decided to no longer stock this product as it is very useful, necessary to keep support posts up out of contact with wet floors, concrete and outdoor structures. I understand they have been replaced with plastic which is also difficult to locate. These cast aluminum plinths are excellent and durable. October 18, 2016
