Answer:
If you're raising miniature cattle, (under 500 pounds full grown), then yes. If you're raising full size cattle, (800-2000 pounds), then you should go with a thicker/heavier and longer posts and cattle panels/heavy duty fence from a tractor store. All it takes is one loud bang from a thunderstorm to freak out a cow and you'll see how strong a fence is.

Answer:
We recommend a T-post that is at least 2' longer than the height of your fence, so the 6-1/2' post would be adequate for the 47" Field Fence. The size of your cattle will determine if the 47" fence is adequate to hold them in. There are higher Horse fence options available if the cattle you are raising are very large.

Stuart

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good T-post for the money. I needed T-posts for a fence project. I almost bought them from a tractor store instead of Home Depot because of the price, but I asked a manager to price match and she did. The steel is solid, but the paint is only fair to okay. If looks are in issue, you'll have to do some spray painting. If you need to put up more than 5 posts, do yourself a favor and buy a T-post driver, it makes the job so much easier and quicker. Using a sledge hammer tends to split and breaks the tops. October 14, 2014
