Black Plastic Sheeting is the only way to go when covering a large amount of hay that has to be stored outside in the weather. It is important to cover the entire stack including the sides especially if the hay is grain hay which soaks up water. I tied a rope with a truckers knot around the center of the stack and left enough of the sheeting to hang on the ground which I put boards on. Dirt will work too. It is economical and last for more than one year if care is taken when put in storage tor the next wet season. I also use a tarp with grommets on just the top of the stack to make sure the wind doesn't lift the sheeting where it is overlapped.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FlooringDiva Easy-to-Use Moisture Barrier
Very easy to install plastic sheeting. Needed moisture barrier under my laminate flooring that had pad attached. This was perfect! Heavy duty plastic sheeting was easy to manipulate on the floor and stayed in place. Didn't bunch up or anything. Used underneath over 1000 s.f. of flooring without a problem. You can see the black plastic sheeting to the left of the flooring as we were making our way there with the boards.

We have had problems with our water pipes freezing during the extreme cold nights of the winter months.
I have been putting up plastic around the crawl space of our home for years, and have still had problems with frozen pipes. This last winter I was prompted by the Lord to put a second sheet over the first, so I hung pieces of 10' by 100' 6mil black plastic folded in half, over the 10' by 25' 4mil black plastic folded in half, that I had already hung.
We had NO Problems!
So this year I duplicated the process!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SouthernGirl2 This is a good product for basement waterproofing
I hired a small contractor who used the plastic sheeting along with black tar to prevent my basement from water leaks during heavy rain. The contractor digged down to the foundation level around the entire perimeter of the house and installed these products. In combination, with a new gutter system - my problem was resolved! I recommend Home Depot products for your all home improvement needs and great financing terms for large projects.
