If I understand your question correctly that you are asking if this would be suitable covering for an outside back porch, I would say the answer is NO. I have this up for about 3 years stapled to the rafters and also to the railing. I had to put wood strips along the bottom and screw that on top of the plastic and into the railing to keep the wind from whipping it around, but it lets light in and keeps the rain (and debris) out. I've also used it to put a temporary cover over an uncovered deck when we got really heavy rains this year and it worked pretty good, holding it down was the challenge, again I used wood on top of the tarp and screwed it down into the trim around my roof. It's really heavy and opaque, but does let light thru but you can't see thru it. Read Less

Yes it will work. I have had the same roll for 3 years and were still going. I chose the clear just so it wouldn't get as hot to prevent burning the grass. I used U shaped landscaping stakes to keep the corners and side down. Have fun.

Answer:
The 10' width is folded in quarters, so the box is just over 2 feet long. You could take this home in a Smart Car.

10 ft. x 100 ft. Clear 6 mil. Plastic Sheeting is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Box says CLEAR plastic .... It is NOT! We thought that the product was clear plastic to use in covering a green house. It is not clear, but milky white that does not allow sun to shine through. Sad to purchase a product that is mis-identified, especially when one lives a long distance from town.

I use this sheeting to cover my screen porch during the winter. The 6 mil. plastic holds up to the Winter winds and the cold weather. I'm able to enjoy my 10' X 30' ft. patio all Winter long, while at the same time, reducing drafts and lowering my energy bill.

We were stuccoing a wall when the nighttime temperatures were below freezing. This plastic sheeting worked perfectly to create a 'tent' to cover the wall and heater, and kept the heat in. Heavy duty enough for Colorado fall nights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home Owners Must Have Any home owner knows that the forces of nature are considerable to reckon with and sometimes you need to have a real shield to protect your home from intrusion caused by wind or water. This plastic roll provides you with enough material to handle most situations and its thickness is very strong even in comparison to tarps. This is a Home Owners Must Have whether you are fighting storms or snow it doesn't matter. This plastic sheeting will protect whatever it covers and there's plenty to go around unless you are in the middle of catastrophic disaster. I used it as an inside window covering during Hurricane Mathew just in case my windows broke to keep wind and rain from getting in. Thank God it didn't happen but even after covering all the windows I still have a ton of it left for the future. Not a bad deal for under $60

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product This worked very well for my intentions of creating a bearier underneath my home from the wind, etc. I do feel the packaging is misleading in that it is not clear plastic but opaque plastic (white). You can not see through it as the word clear indicates. In my application would have been nice to allow sunlight through to help heat underneath in crawl space. Great quality and will buy more if needed in future.

It works like it's supposed to, but it's more expensive than I would like, especially for something I will need to throw away in the spring. I just hope I'm saving enough on heating costs to make it worth buying, but with the cost of oil being lower than it used to be, I might just break even.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for many applications where weather guard is needed or protection from the freeze too. Great heavy duty sheeting, use it for lots of projects around the house. Lets light in while providing protection from the rains. Good for protecting plants from the occasional frost or freeze. Heavy enough to stand up to wind gusts. Can use it on my deck to keep the sideways rain from coming in and keeps the deck dry. Can use it to cover my raised plant beds to make temporary shelter for seedlings to get an early start on the growing season. Stands up to the sun really well and strong enough to need minimal support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product. I bought the plastic sheeting to form a moisture barrier in my crawl space. The 10 wide sheets worked perfect between piers, and the 6 mil plastic was tough and snag resistant to roll out and anchor down. Great purchase
