light

Which way do the batteries go in. And do all four go in at the same time?
Asked by: cloe
All four of the batteries should be in a plastic sleeve and the entire stack should go in the light. The batteries have a flat side with writing on them and a positive (+) symbol; the other side is slight raised with a green rim around the contact. The positive side (with the "+" symbol) should go in first - again, as a stack in the plastic sleeve. If you have lost the sleeve, just make sure they all go in the same way - positive side first.

the knife cuts tube sold separately?

if the knife cuts tube is broke
Asked by: julio
I am not sure what you are asking. If you cut something with a knife, yes, it is effectively broken.

10-in-1 Plumber Multi Tool with Pouch is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Actually very handy tool I'm not a big fan of multi-tools but this one might make me change my tune. The description is lacking and the tool didn't come with any instructions so here's some more information. This plumber's multi-tool has the following tools: - Tubing Cutter - Hex Stepped Seat Wrench - Square Stepped Seat Wrench - Flat head screwdriver with knife - Phillips head screwdriver with some sort of hook - Knife - Saw blade with ruler markings - LED FLashlight You also get a decent case with a belt loop. The tubing cutters are sharp and easy to use. The description says they are spring loaded but I don't see any indication of that. You need to manually open and close it to operate. There's a little metal safety near the handle that you'll need to swing out to be able to use the cutters. They're good for cutting flexible tubing such as PEX and sprinkler line and probably some thin-walled rigid plastic. I thought I had some 3/4" PVC to test but couldn't find it. I wouldn't be surprised if it could cut it but not sure that's what this was meant for. The thickest plastic I was able to test was a 3/4" sprinkler cut-off riser. Cutting it was very easy. You need to use this like you would any other tubing cutter and sort of cut/spin/cut/spin as you go. If you try to just cut tubing like scissors you'll deform it and not get a square cut. The stepped seat wrenches are used to unscrew the seat from standard faucets that don't use a cartridge. There are only 3 steps for each of the hex and square step wrenches. The flathead screwdriver is what you would expect in a multitool like this. As is the phillips head. It's flat but has a slight ridge. I'm not quite sure what the hook is for on the phillips head screwdriver. It might just be to help pull it out without having to unfold either of the step wrenches around it. The saw blade is sharp. and can be used to saw through some PVC pipe and the knife or the blade on the flathead screwdriver can be used to clean up any rough edges. For it's size the flashlight is pretty bright. Before using it for the first time you need to unscrew the lens and remove a small paper disc to allow current to flow from the batteries. To turn it on screw the lens down to make contact. To turn it off unscrew it a bit. Some of the tools are a little hard to pry out. Especially the saw, knife and flathead screwdriver. I tried oiling them but it didn't help. The belt mounted sheath that comes with it seems sturdy. If you have the tool unfolded to primarily use the tubing cutters you can slide it in the case handles up and it's held securely in the case, allowing you to pull it out and make the next cut in your tubing. I mainly wanted a tubing cutter but it's nice to have the extras. The few times I need to use my step wrench I never know where it is. This is much easier to keep in a toolbox. Like all multi-tools it suffers from being a jack of all trades, master of none but it does pack a lot of useful tools for plumbers. For a homeowner that has flexible PEX tubing it's a nice way to get a bunch of tools you'll need and keep them together. They should probably come out with one meant for irrigation installers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from compact with great flexibility this multi-function compact tool is perfect to have on hand for those on the spot repairs. i keep this tool in my laundry room drawer for quick access, saving me a trip to the basement workshop. i have used it several times for cutting and the screwdriver is perfect for tightening cabinet door hinges that seem to loosen from time to time. i recommend this tool for taking on the road as well, since we always seem to need a variety of tools when visiting our daughter who lives in an apartment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good tool but the cutter isnt great everything on this tool is good except the pipe cutter which is the main reason I bought it. I tried to cut a 3/4 pvc pipe and it wouldn't cut it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A lot Packed In Small Package HDX Multi-Tool is great to have at home, office or car, it is the tool for quick jobs. It includes small flashlight which is very handy, flat head with blade, saw with measuring tool on the side, hole punch, pruning shears with safety lock, Phillips head, hex sock set, square sock set, knife and bottle opener. Just about anything one would need for those quick fixes. It has an extreme grip, folds up and fits in nice heavyweight black carrying case designed to carry on the belt. Would make a great gift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile multi-tool I'm not really a plumber, so many of the features are are not really that useful to me. However, the blades and pipe cutters are versatile and universal enough for most users. I found the LED light also pretty useful, especially for situations where one wouldn't normally have a flashlight handy. As a a whole, great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plumber or Electrician good tool to have on your hip This is a very handy tool. The tube cutter is heavy duty. The teeth on the saw are offset and very sharp. Most of the tools would be handy in a sprinkle system install. Flashlight is nice small decent lumens small batteries.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice features, but needs more! The pipe cutter and screw drivers are very handy and I especially like the built-in flashlight but it needs more tools that I would use everyday. I also like the compact size and pouch which makes it easy to take to and around the job.
