I say that because I almost made that mistake. Before buying this, I read the review about how the person bought two, and neither worked correctly, and was suspicious as I plugged mine in and saw only one light was lit. I then set to repack it and was about to bring it back but decided to look it over and make sure I wasnt missing something.
Well, there is an on/off switch on the back that is hid by a protective knob you have to take off. It actually tells you on the knob to take it off. Once I did and pushed in the button, the other light came on.
That's not to say the person who got two broken ones was wrong - maybe theirs was broke.
I give it 4 stars because it was only $20 and I'm not expecting it to be perfect. I haven't used it enough, though, to give much more of an accurate review.

Both light bulbs blew out within 1 month after purchase. Now the right side lamp will not turn on, no matter what I do to it. Discontinued product now so I cannot return to the store for exchange.

In store pickup was a breeze and this light does put out a ton of light. I got it home and used it that day, but within the first 4 hours one of the bulbs popped (I did not touch the lense) and within a month the second bulb popped. The actual light housings themselves seem to be of acceptable quality, but the brackets that support them will not lock in place. They will stay, but if you touch it you will have to readjust and you just can't tighten them enough to make them stay. I wouldn't buy this light again, and suggest you don't either.

Bought this product, got home, set it up, and started my project. Within 10 minutes, I heard a loud pop. I came into the room and saw safety glass all over my hardwood floor. As I was investigating the mess, the second light's safety glass burst, showering the floor with chunks of glass. The bulbs were fine. It was the heavy tempered glass fronts that burst. I packed the lights in a big box to contain what glass didn't fall all over the floor and took it back to the store. The lady who works in lighting said she had never heard of this happening and would call the company first thing in the morning. She sent me home with another set. She was friendly and courteous. I set the second set of lights up, meticulous about making sure everything was done correctly (it's not rocket science). 10 minutes later the safety glass burst again.

I already have one of these light but it is not on the stand. Now I have two and on a nice movable stand.
I am sure that I will be using this for painting and other home projects, but I also bought it for photography purposes.

Definitely far from contractor grade. Tripod is short and not very stable. It is ok to use for projects around the house. The only upside is cheap price.

As mentioned by others, the safety glass on one of the lights popped literally 5 minutes after turning it on - it puts out a lot of heat and I suspect the glass is just typical of the cheap construction/materials used in the product. Plenty of light, but the adjustments aren't very solid either.
Spend a little more money and get a better product. I guess you get what you pay for. Will be returning the unit ASAP.
