i had so many screws, washers, toggle bolts and miscellaneous things just mixed in one container. this allowed me to separate everything and organize them. there's plenty of compartments, and they have removable dividers so you can accommodate different sized items. the latches hold firmly, so i don't worry about it opening and spilling everything out.

This is a very nice heavy duty organizer! I have bought others that are too flimsy or the latches aren't always reliable.

The organizer is well built. The removable dividers allow me to adjust compartment width to accommodate for different lengths of nails and screws. For the price you can't beat it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WarrenJim Nice little case!
I picked up the HDX double-sided organizer not for a parts box, but rather as a twist drill bit case.
I'm gathering a fairly nice collection of (to me) expensive drill bits and the standard (and affordable) twist drill bit boxes stop at 9/16". When I acquired a 5/8" bit I had no place to store it where it would be secure and yet fall "readily to hand" when needed. Another issue, if you have more than one bit of the same size a standard drill index does not allow for multiple bits of the same size.
The HDX organizer works pretty well for my purpose. I modified the removable partitions by cutting a cradle to fit the drill bit I wanted to store. I used a Dremel and a razor blade knife to make the cradle fit the individual drill bit.
On the larger bits two cradles can be cut into each divider and each bit is long enough to sit across two dividers. (Of course two dividers are required to balance the bit in the cradles).
On smaller diameter bits three cradles can be carved into the dividers, thus holding three bits.
As a bonus the space below the bits can be used for other small items (although I would urge caution - you wouldn't want to store something below the bit that could bounce up and damage the bit cutting edge).
Smaller bits can be placed in storage compartmens without having to cut the cradles, of course. I haven't added smaller bits and it might be feasible to keep them in a standard drill bit index and store the entire index in the HDX case.
Once I have all of the bits in place I'll use a label gun to appropriately tag each bit.
This meets my requirements: (1) The container must securely hold larger drill bits without allowing the bits to be damaged, (2) The container must be readily transportable and have good latches and (3) the container must be quite affordable.
