Good for photography I actually use these to light up a whiye background when I'm taking photos. They allow you to use daylight bulbs up to 150 watts. I also use these out in the garage as. you lighting is not great while working out there. Only problems I have with this light is the shield comes unscrewed easy, and the clamp needs to be attached to something thicker or they will not hold well. Other thay that, cheap alternative to good lighting.

I bought two of these to use as lighting for my artwork, but the clamps are so flimsy they can't even hold up the light fixture. I've tried tightening the screws to make sure that these can hold up the light, and still they can't support it. The clamp fixture has also fallen apart and there's no way to get it back together. My husband did try to fix it, but ended up gouging his hand. Honestly, spend a little more to get a better clamp. I bought these because I needed them quick and they were cheap, but definitely not worth keeping in the long run.

I stared at the pieces for 15 minutes, then searched out the video. Very straightforward and simple, but not AT ALL like any of the approaches that occurred to me just by looking at the pieces. Perhaps I'm a dunce, but dunces need clamp lights too! Incidentally, I've been using the fixture for a week or so with a separately purchased (not from HD) full-spectrum grow light and we're VERY HAPPY with the results.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from well it is a light They come assembled so all you have to do is add the light bulb. that is not the issue, the big issue is the metal reflector over the process of heating up causes the threads to stretch enough that the reflector will become loose and fall off the plastic socket sleeve. When it does it will of course fall on the bulb it self and not fall off, but that is only because it lands on the bulb. I really do not want the reflector to fall on the lamp my self or sit on it. My lamps I got from home depot over the past 5 years as I needed them, I have gone so far as to track down and contact the lamp manufacturer. They sent me new ones that worked fine for a while before this once again became a issue. as many lights as I have to deal with, it is a annoyance. The only 1 solution I found is, high temp tape good for 200 + deg. F. this way you can wrap the threads so the reflector will stay on and the tape will not melt, or burn.
