I had read some really bad reviews of the one and two gallon HDX sprayer. I had tried several other avenues because of those reviews. I gave up and purchased the 1 gallon HDX sprayer. I found it to work perfectly. Yes, I did have some starting out issues like, wouldn't spray, only spraying air, well 'duh' me, the tank tube came off. I did not have it pushed in enough. Took me a while to figure that out and was ready to give up and believe the reviews. Once that was solved this thing worked great. I used it to spray vinegar on weeds. Would highly recommend for any project!

I didn't use it for chemicals so can't comment on sturdiness under those conditions. I used it for the neem oil extract spray. Had to do the backyard I'd say a little under 3000 ft. I didn't expect miracles considering it's price compared to the others. However I did expect it would at least hold pressure long enough to spray out it's contents. You really have to stop of pump after maybe a minute of spraying which isn't an easy task because when you unlock the pump the top tries to unscrew. I think the design of the pressure release valve is probably the culprit. They should probably rethink it.

This product is so bad that I'm writing my first review. The "lockable" sprayer locks on so easily that it will lock on inadvertently. I'll know in a few days how much damage I've done with the out of control spray. The two adjustments available make no useful adjustment to spray volume or pattern. The pump/handle is very flimsy. While I didn't break it in my first use, I can't imagine it holding up over time. On the plus side, it does have a bleed valve on the tank to make removing the cap easier. Overall, a cheaply-made product that does a poor job of spraying, the only thing I ask it to do. If they had any of the twelve products available on display, I might have made a better selection but they were all boxed so I didn't know how bad it was until I got it home.

I used the sprayer to spray herbicides. it worked well enough at first, but there is a basic problem -- the plastic lip which holds the handle in place is not strong enough to hold the weight of two gallons of liquid! There is just no way this was tested for quality.
I ordered a replacement handle from Flo-Master, and it broke as well.
If you insist on buying this product, you may want to consider only filling it halfway, so the handle will not break.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by buck it was ok
it was easy to assemble. it did not have straps to hold the sprayer. Very hard for me to hold and spray at the same time. it had a feature I thought would be nice and I made a mistake and had to try it.
Then I could not shut it off. You could turn the knob to release the pressure when done, nice concept but it will seal after. So probably return it. I will get one with a strap and with out the knob.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Douglas Leaking Trigger With First Use
Flow Control Valve leaked from under the lever (trigger) with first use. The spray material (in this case, grass & weed killer) leaked on hand and ground/good plants virtually continuously.

This sprayer did not hold pressure at all. I had to continuously pump to keep spraying. Returned and picked up a roundup version for five more dollars. With the roundup sprayer I can cover about a quarter of my yard on one pump.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by LeeRoy HDX 2 gallon Sprayer
I have purchased these sprayers in the past. The sprayer worked great. Approximately six months ago, I believe, the design was changed somewhat where the handle, after filling with water and pumping continues to break. Previously I purchased several but yesterday I decided to buy the flowmaster, which is about three dollars more. The HDX model is the Home Depot brand. Flow Master also has parts which I could not find with the HDX model.
