FYI, this plastic is opaque so you won't be able to see through it very well. Read Less

Answer:
i used landscape staples to attach to the ground. i think straw would puncture it, although if you are just placing it gently on top of the bale, it would hold up. it is tough, but yiu can poke a hole in it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This is a very heavy but pliable plastic. It did very well covering file and storage boxes. Holds easily with tape without tearing. The only downside is the way it is folded on the roll. You would expect if you cut up the middle of the roll you would get two 10' wide pieces but it is quad folded from the center out on the roll so you get two 8' wide pieces and two 2' wide pieces. If you want to half it you need to unfold it first. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A must have for me. I make sure I have a roll or 2 on every outdoor show I do. It is a must have for me. June 21, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by definitely NOT clear unfortunately, everything home depot sells that USED to be clear is now translucent. why?? i had the same problem with a shower curtain they labeled "clear"! they should change the description. i'm using this to solarize a lawn, and i think it would be better if it were clear to trap solar heat. it's hard to see if the grass is turning brown through the thick translucent film. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disintegrated after 2 months outdoors I have been using 6 mil clear polyethylene sheet for a swimming pool cover for many years. I make a new one every spring and they last through a New England summer (about 4 months). This material disintegrated after 2 months. 6 Mil polyethylene is typically a milky white color; this material is a milky gray color. This color may due to a high recycle or contaminant content. This sheeting is definitely inferior to those I have been using for the the last 20 years. September 6, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Its not clear Its not clear at all. Its white, lots of shade. Dont use it for greenhouse August 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good quality I purchased this roll of 6 mil plastic sheeting to use in solarizing some weedy soil inside a greenhouse. The plastic was in very good shape when received, and it was not difficult to unroll the length I needed. It appears to be doing the job for which it was purchased. July 28, 2016
