For the money, I shouldn't have expected to have purchased a reinvention of the leaf rake. It held up for one afternoon in the front yard, but the moulded support rib down the center of the rake head didn't stand up to the force I put on it as I raked. Its not that I over-did it or anything, I just had a big yard of Texas Live Oak leaves and this rake must've been designed for a junior-sized lawn. I *should've* forked out for a stronger, solid and manlier rake...

My yard has about 5000 square feet of lawn that the last winter was hard on. Leaves were months old from last fall when the early snow came fast and hard. My old rake was broken and I ordered the well reviewed Fiskar rake from Home Depot in preparation for spring clean-up. Meanwhile, I picked up this HDX rake as it looked sturdy and reviews were good (actually excellent). I used this rake in our front yard where it really did a nice job without breaking my back. A week later, the Fiskar rake was ready to pick up at Home Depot, which I did. While using the Fiskar on the back yard, I tried out the HDX to compare the two and was surprised to find that I much preferred the HDX at a third of the cost of the Fiskar! The only small negative is that the handle of the HDX tends to loosen in spite of a set screw that appears to use a torx screw that I don't have the equipment to tighten. So I just had to crank on the handle periodically to tighten it up. Maybe I'll replace the torx screw with a small screw of my own, which is no big deal. This is a rare time when I got much more for my money than planned on. I'll keep the Fiskar as my back up rake and use the HDX as my primary tool. Don't eqate the price of this rake with its performance, as it's an extraordinary value for the money!

I purchased a flip house and the contractors used the back yard to dump building materials and clean their equipment. Needless to say the yard was full of trash. Drywall screws, broken glass, pieces of shingles, scrap pieces of tiles, etc.
I chose this poly rake because it had a lot of fingers and looked like it would be the most effective way to catch all the little debris.
About 15-20 minutes later using just this rake I had most of the trash out of the yard and into neat piles so I could scoop everything up and throw it in the trash.
Performed better than I'd expect a $7 rake to and better than many more expensive rakes I've used.

It's my first time using a rake. The price of this rake is unbelievable. It's of a big size which made cleaning up lots of leaves easy and fun.
