Like others, I'm amazed at how quickly this thing burns through 250W Hallogen tube bulbs. I used both of the tubes that came with the light within day without rough handing. I purchased another bulb in a single pack at HD and it lasted two days. It could be that the slightest vibration hastens bulb fairure, but I have a similar light with a similar bulb mount that lasts for months. Very strange. Unless you need this as a heat source, I recommend you invest in a LED work light.

This work light gets the job done, no doubt. As you can see there are many bad reviews on this product. I have not owned this light for very long, however, I have conducted my own tests to find its durability. First of all, the stock bulb works fine for me. Many people report that the bulb burns out very fast. To be honest I think it's because these same individuals are touching the halogen bulb with their fingers. When placing any halogen bulb in any piece of equipment you should always wear gloves like nitrile for example. Residual body oils is one of the top cause for halogens to burn out early. As for durability, this little guy does the job well. The enclosure is somewhat thinner than most other brands but who cares? You aren't supposed to touch it anyway, as it's hot when in use. The accessories that come with it which include a hanger, stake, clamp and the standard base, are pretty nifty too. I've used all of them except the stake, and all seem to work just fine. I will say though, I wish the clamp had a little more bite to it, nonetheless it still works. I ran the light for 10 hours none stop and it seems to work just fine. Overall I think it's not any less durable than any other brand on the market. Most will argue with that saying, "well I can throw mine in the back of the truck and it will be fine". Face it, if you really care about a purchase you made, you probably shouldn't be throwing it around, especially if it contains a fragile light bulb. Great light! As the title says, it does what it's made for!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CameraMonkey85 Bulbs are worthless
I'm a photography student, and I bought this to use as a back and side light for my makeshift, cheap studio setup.
Each bulb lasted a shoot and a half (a few hours each, max). I should've checked the extra bulb price, which is WAY too much. I would've bought a larger clamp light and incandescent bulbs instead.
Waste of my money.

The bulbs last only a few hours. That's bulbS plural. And then one quit working completely. It's too bad I have to strike another item off the purchase from Home Depot list. This list is getting big enough to shop at local hardware stores now.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Lonewolf Bulbs break easily and often
This is a small, maneuverable light that's cheap and easy to use. If the light is knocked over, it's almost a certainty that the bulb is going to break. Don't buy the replacement bulbs at $14 for two. Buy a new light that comes with 2 bulbs. I now have 4.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by theoneandonlyrob Right price, wrong bulb
This light is well priced, sturdy, and it comes with handy accessories even if the power cord is a bit short. However, the first bulb lasted only a few minutes despite taking all due care when installing it. Let's hope the spare that came with the unit does not suffer the same defect.
