How can you remove a drawer from this 5-Drawer Combo with 2 Doors?

I want to temporarily disable the top from locking the upper tool box drawers. I think I need to remove some drawer(s) to do this?
Asked by: Anonymous
None of my drawers will remove. I was so hoping to be able to load up each drawer without having to stand at the tool box, or to remove a drawer to take a few tools to the work area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is a good tool chest , though not happy... It is a good tool chest , though not happy with home depot. This particular tool chest had apparently been sold previously and returned for it had damage that is consistent with someone trying to wedge one of drawers open. i took out locking mechanism and the drawer now works fine except of course i

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad for the price Other than the screws in the corners that connect the top shelf to the bottom, the product was fairly easy to put together. For my needs, it provided a nice way to organize the few tools and odds-and-ends neatly with adequate space for everything. That being said, the product is pretty wobbly, the brakes on the casters don't work well and the drawers keep sliding out. They should have designed it so that the drawer slides have a slight incline at the back so that the drawers don't slide out at the slightest disturbance. Also, they should have made all four casters movable so that the product could be easily navigated into a tight space (since it is pretty small, a tight space is probably where most people would put it).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for money, Drawers do lock just bought product 5/28/13 for home storage of tools. steel is not very thick but for the money dont expect much. It holds all my tools and more. plenty of storage. some have said the drawers slide open. if you hold the top fully extended, push the three drawers shut then close lid- it locks them closed. open top to release drawers.others lock with key. I also attached the bottom open box to top then attached to bottom during install to help with screws. overall for the money great buy, easy install. I may upgrade the casters later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my needs. Install a small washer on the front casters. Mine were about 1/8". Helps keep the drawers from opening. For my use at home in my garage this is perfect. $50 makes it a no brainer! PUT ALL SCREWS IN THEIR HOLES ABOUT 3/4 OF THE WAY, REMOVE, THEN ACTUALLY SCREW THE PIECES TOGETHER. MAKES IT SOOOOO MUCH EASIER TO PUT TOGETHER. Also look inside the chest for little foam pads that go between the riser and the chest. I found them after putting it together.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from chest is "ok" I looked around for awhile for a cheap chest for my garage.I purchased with only one review here, and without being able to see the item myself.. I would put this on par with the cheap craftsman that runs ~$130.. Like the other reviews my chest arrived pretty dinged up. The unit is made from pretty thin metal. I wish now I would have just spent more $ and purchased a better box to start with. I rated this average overall because for $100 with free shipping it will work for now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well for small home garage The assembly took some time as the hole didn't line up. I had to drill new holes to attach the top part to the bottom cart. For the price I don't mind a little bit of hand drilling. The ball bearing drawer slides out easily but the tend to slide out by themselves. There are of course 5 drawers, top part opens up, and bottom cabinet opens out. Both the top and bottom has keys to lock things in there if you need to like power drills or something. There's also 4 wheels so you can roll it around. Added padding to wheel to try to tilt the chest so the drawers don't slide out. I would buy this again for the right price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good bang for the buck Just picked this up from my local HD and put it together. More storage for less $ than the other options on the floor and it also feels more solid than the other bargain boxes on display. Drawers don't wobbble and everything locks up tight. It is constructed of pretty thin sheet metal so I'd suggest sticking to the manufacturer's guidelines re: weight. Assembly was pretty easy except for having to screw/unscrew some thick screws through the sheet metal. Be careful of sharp edges around the screw holes!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Came in Damaged.. I think that say's everything Came in with damage on all sides. Called customer service they wanted to know if I wanted to reorder or wait the 30 days for a refund? I am waiting. Has to be a very cheaply made tool chest to have excessive damage. Would not recommend.
