You don't need to remove the drawers. If you don't want to lock the top drawers, open the top hatch, open each drawer a bit, close the top hatch, and close the drawers. The drawers are now free opening.
If you want to re-secure the drawers, open the top hatch, push each drawer in as far as it will go, then close the top hatch.

Answer:
It works similar to other sliding drawers. Insert a screwdriver into the drawer slide where a knotch is and the drawer will bypass the catch. The knotch is about one half inch inside the side walls.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Came in Damaged.. I think that say's everything Came in with damage on all sides. Called customer service they wanted to know if I wanted to reorder or wait the 30 days for a refund? I am waiting. Has to be a very cheaply made tool chest to have excessive damage. Would not recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price I needed a tool box to sit in the garage, I found this one on sale for under $100 and it does the job without any complaints. However, it was dented due to shipping but didn't affect the functionality.

That said, there some minus items. The sheet metal is thin and so my bottom unit arrived with a dent in the front corner. Also, the welds on one of the doors had come undone so I had to glue the tabs back on the door for the hinges. This is a small light duty tool chest and as long as you keep that in mind, this can be a good purchase. Mine is for storing tools in my utility room. It keeps the room clean and neat with household/auto maintenance quick and easy to complete because the tools are easy to find. I'd recommend something a little bigger and beefier for the more avid tool-guys.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tool box The tool box is easy to set up the only thing i dont like is the color. The drawers slide nicely had enough space for what i needed. Its basically like my husky tool box just with a different color and name. You are not goin to fit alot of tools because of its size but it is good for a beginner better than having tools scattered for the price its really good.
