Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for a hallway Nothing too complicated here. Finally a drop cloth that is designed for a hallway. It fits very well. (See photo.) That’s important to help avoid bulky under-folds or other tripping hazards. Other than the fit, this drop cloth is a step up from an all paper or all plastic version. It incorporates the best of both worlds. This should be good for a few uses and then can be tossed if used lightly. It is made from inexpensive materials so it can easily be punctured by a stepladder or similar. This might limit reuse. Keep in mind though, that this is a very inexpensive product so it is a good value. January 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by keeping it clean This dropcloth has two layers. The top layer is like a thick paper towel and the bottom layer is made out of a shiny plastic material. I used this drop cloth on top of my regular fabric dropcloth just for precaution; but it wasn't necessary because the paint didn't soak through. It is long enough to cover the floor along an average length wall. Personally I wouldn't reuse this dropcloth unless I didn't waste any paint on it or I was using while I was spray painting. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Better than plastic, but probably not multi-use I testing this product out against pooled spills of paint. It didn't leak through even a drop after 20 minutes. In addition, the absorbent top layer is like a good paper towel, just soaking the moisture in. Very nice feature, keeps you from tracking paint around the house. The only downside is that plastic backing is thin. It's about the thickness of plastic food wrap. The cloth isn't flimsy though, as the other side provides stability. However, I wouldn't reuse the product indoors. Just like plastic wrap, when it's walked on for a while, it will inevitable develop holes. Still it's priced low enough to be single use without hurting your wallet. December 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HANDY AND VERSATILE The Trimaco drop cloth is light weight and works for many projects around the house. keep it folded up for small projects around the house or unfold it to paint a closet or spruce up bedroom walls without having to walk on annoying and noisy tarps/plastic. you can cover a table with it and work on a craft project with the kids. I used it folded up to stain a sleigh x-mas decoration and a walking stick. ( a lot better then covering work bench with newspapers or plastic ) The only negative : description says it is made out of a heavy weight non-woven fabric but it is more like a medium weight fabric. Time will tell how long it lasts. December 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by For messy jobs This drop cloth is a super thin layer of plastic on top of a paper-towel-like material. As a result, it is very compact, lightweight, easy to store, and easy to spread out and use. It was great for messy projects where I was spilling a lot of stuff, like paint, or water or other liquids. The absorbent material would suck up the liquid, and the plastic backing would keep the liquid from touching the floor surface. This works best on a hardwood or tile floor. With carpeting, the drop cloth is a bit too thin to be stable enough for me. When you are done, just roll it up, and throw it away. Easy cleanup and disposal. January 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Provides extra protection when working in a prefinished area... I used the 4 ft. x 10 ft Double Guard Dropcloth as a secondary layer of protection over my larger drop cloth when painting. The drop cloth material is lightweight but the interior plastic film stops liquids from penetrating to the bottom side of the cloth. All of the spackle and paint that landed on the drop cloth stayed on the top side drop cloth. The 4x10 footprint is perfect for setting up directly under your ladder or feet. I felt much more comfortable spackling and painting in a room with new floors. September 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tough and reusable This stuff is great for protecting floors and furniture when painting or staining. It is a much better value than plastic sheets or old bed linen. This product has several great features. One, it is not too light so it weighs itself down better than plastic or sheets. Second, the top-side is a fabric which absorbs paint. Beneath the fabric is a plastic sheet which brings me to my third point, paint doesn't soak through. Unlike the plastic sheets I have used before the paint is absorbed into the fabric and doesn't streak. Unlike bed sheets, paint doesn't soak through. I like to paint barefoot sometimes and my feet don't stick to the drop-cloth like they do plastic sheeting. Finally, the drop-cloth was easy to fold back up and is ready to be reused. I think it is a great investment that I will use on many paint jobs. December 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy, good quality My painter accidentally threw out my old drop cloth, which was probably a good thing. I opened this package and knew immediately that this drop cloth was of very good quality - just like the ones you find used by a commercial painter. It is heavy enough to allow me to confidently cover floors and furniture, is of material that releases debris afterward, and is of good size. I hope to buy another one in a larger size.
