Answer:
you need at least a six and a half foot post if you want the spade part of the post to be in the ground and the top of the post to be at the top of the fence that is a minimum. If you want to be extra firm go two feet taller than your fence for post height

I used 6' T-posts. I have driven them in the ground about 18" or a little more. This fence surrounds a raised bed, vegetable garden. The local soil conditions are a thin layer of dense top soil on top of a layer of really dense marine clay. Driving these posts in 18" took some time and effort. You might need to consider a taller post if working in sandy, looser soil. With the fencing I used the post does Read More

Answer:
A six foot t-post worked well for me but I have hard compact soil. If you have loose soil then maybe something longer.

We bought a bunch of 8' ones. We will use for other purposes too. I might tie string or something to the tops to deter birds....or maybe solar lights to the extra at the top.

Answer:
To properly support a 5' fence you should have a minimum of 18" of post in the ground (when the ground is firm) or 36" in the ground (when the ground is very loose or soft). If you are unsure of how firm the ground is we recommend using a 7' T-post to support this product. The online item number at Homedepot.com is 202023998.

I have a Border Collie/ Lab mix. She is about 60lbs. She doesn't climb or dig out, though would this be good fencing to make a small fenced in area for her?

Answer:
I would think so. I had a 60 lb. rescue border collie dog in a run of about 20 ft. x 30 ft. and only a 4 ft. high fence like this and he was happy enough and never dug out or jumped it. It is strong fencing.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good strong wire Be careful installing wire on hook posts. Too much downward pressure will snap off welds just hook it don't force it then close hooks Now we'll see how long it takes to rust up August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good qaulity Was able to bend into L shape to dog proff the fence August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good dog fence. Bought this wire fence in order to stop my dog from bitting and scratching the wooden fence. Used 45ft of wire fence to cover the area needed. Looks good. Didn't take long to install. I am pleased with the product but I'm sure my dog disagrees. Now my dog just stares at the fence. I recommend this product. February 20, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Welded steel fencing material We used this to keep my goats on my property, and out of the road. It worked fantastically, and because of the difference in terrain where we used it, we just hammered it over and stapled it. It looks great, and now they just get out somewhere else! June 14, 2016
