Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Renovator lids are warped
The "HDX" brand is a very clear box, nice size but the majority of lids available do not close. I did not find any good lids in the current batch available at 2 stores. They are warped and do not straighten out even after several days of piled on heavy books. I've returned the recently purchased batch. If it is a must that the lid closes, don't get a warped lid.Otherwise, it is a good container.
A few months back Home Depot offered a "ShoeBox" brand at the same price, just as clear and the lids do what they are suppose to...snap close. Hope HD brings them back!
No comment on the labels...we place conten photos over them.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HDman Excellent for the price. Must buy if your organizing.
I am stunned at the negative reviews. Its not like you can't see the product in the store and open it out of the box or something. What you see is what you get.
I bought 200 of these to organzize not just shoes, but pretty much everything so I can easily find later.
-Clear, see through all around. I had old ones that were foggy that I replaced.
- About 10% of lids at the store bent or does not close properly. Just filter these out. They are easy to find.
- Like one user said, label is impossible to remove. It didnt bother me, I left them all on and just label the other side.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by huthutcan Great overall value for the price
This box is great for general purpose storage. Yes it may not be the prettiest box, but it is great for high value and quantity. If you want a pretty box, buy one at 2x or 3x the price. Yes the label might be hard to get off one side, turn the label towards the back of the shelf! Some of the lids have required effort in the past to snap on, my latest batch seem to be a lot better. I have about a hundred of these total now for craft supplies, tools and hardware, shoes, etc. They stack well, with a lip so they will not slide off each other. They are pretty clear, easy to see through, overall great.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by cmandley Nearly impossible to remove label makes this product useless
This inexpensive plastic container would be a great product, but unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to remove the label without messing up the container. How difficult would it be for the manufacturer to use a label that would come off cleanly, leaving the product that you pay for in presentable condition? Why do retailers tolerate impossible to remove labels on products that are not normally intended to be used with a label. It's a mindless, aggravating practice. Those boxes that I bought are going back to Home Depot.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by LSarge Cheap in every way.
I purchased a stack of eight of these along with a half dozen Sterilite containers of the same size. I thought these would do for light duty storage and the price seemed right at less than half the cost of the Sterilite units. I wish that I had taken time to look more closely before making the purchase, as there were several issues when I tried to use them:
- The lids do not fit tightly. Not a major issue for my purposes, but worth noting.
- A couple of the boxes had noticeable defects... One looked as though it had been partially melted on one side.
- The biggest problem, though, was that the bottom of every box was not flat. It bowed down significantly, such that when I set them on a flat surface, the box literally pivoted in place.
These will be going back, to be replaced by higher quality units.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Druid These are great containers
I picked up 20 of these - wish I got more - can't find them now. I have no problem removing the labels - "easy does it" is the way to go. Yes, some lids are not flat - no big deal. First , look and select when you buy the containers and second, stacking flattens them out. Hey all, these are only a buck and do a lot better than a real shoebox.
I hope my local stores (three in my area) will bring them back.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by carl A decent product ruined by difficult to remove label
Product is decent unless you want to remove the manufacture's label. Plan on a struggle to remove the label and you'll need a solvent to do a decent job. The manufacturer could have used a more readily removed label. But I guess they figure your time isn't valuable. Home Depot and other retailers should be encouraging their suppliers to use more easily removed labels. Consumers can promote better labeling by not buying products with the difficult to remove labels.
