CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by hdx pitcer 2 filters included on-sale for 4.99, ordered online/pick up in-store, store ran out got upgraded from 6-cup to 8-cup pitcher. pitcher lid is horrible, filters fits into brita pitcher but also is horrible. filters looks cheap hence the price, weights 1/3 of brita filters, leaks 25% of water into pitcher making filter faster then brita filters. double filter made easy -1st w/hdx then brita. 3 stars for price and upgrade. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Whats the point if the water just leak from the side of the filter to the bottom?! I washed the filter, and the container as the instructions directed. While filtering on the first run, I noticed most of the water was actually seeping through the sides of the filter.. I reset the filter position couple times, and rinsed the edges, but still couldn't get a tight seal. May 31, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good little pitcher I had low expectations but it helps make our tap water drinkable. It removers the heavy odor and chemistry lab taste. The down falls as with most filter pitchers it the refill time and the flippy lid the kids seep to drop all the time. May 15, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by First Impression While washing the pitcher before the very first use the plastic "Easy flip-up lid" broke off, which probably should be expected considering the low price and that it is made out of plastic. In rest it does it's job at filtering the chlorine taste and smell out. April 15, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by glad i got it for $5 bucks the filter does not sit tightly inside the tube, so not all the water is filtered. June 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Love the clear design I have 2 older Brita pitchers (6-cup and 10-cup) from about 10 yrs ago. I bought this HDX 6-cup pitcher the other day to replace my 6-cup Brita, and I have to say I really like it. I'll compare it to my 2 Brita pitchers, but keep in mind they're 10 yrs old so the Brita designs may have changed since then. PROS: I love the see-through plastic. Now I know how much water is left to drain without flipping up the top. I also like the thin rubber strips on the bottom so they don't slide on my countertop as easily. I like how the filter can slide in any direction without having to line up the plastic tabs on the side. The price is less than half of the 6-cup Brita pitcher. I wish the 8-cup were priced as competitively as well! CONS: The flip top is harder to flip up than my Brita at first. It's that way by design so that it stays up easier while you're filling water (the top on my Brita 6-cup always wants to come down but the 10-cup top stays up), but it's harder to flip it up. I remedied this by using my thumb and middle finger on both sides of the top of the handle and use my index finger to flip it up. That seems to provide enough leverage to flip it up easily. The plastic is thinner than the Brita so one might say it feels cheaply made, but less plastic does make it lighter. Even though both the HDX & Brita are 6-cup, I think the Brita holds more water. Haven't measured it scientifically but the Brita definitely looks bigger. Also, the water seems to filter very slowly at the end, possibly due to the air void in the cylinder surrounding the filter. Not sure if the Brita has this air void since the plastic is not clear, but I see the water dripping slowly at times in the HDX since it's clear. Not really a problem for me, but it's interesting to note. May 8, 2014
