Customer Questions & Answers

can I use this on a duckless range hood

Asked by: Ralph
Yes, the appliance cord be used on ductless range hoods. Use a cord length not less than 18 inches and not over 3 feet. The outlet receptacle for the hood will need to be put on its own individual branch circuit if the sum of the loads by all fastened-in-place utilization equipment (e.g., exhaust fans, garage door openers, etc.) (excluding lighting fixtures) on that branch circuit is going to exceed 50 percent of the branch circuit rating.

Can this be used for a window AC unit?

Frigidaire model FFRC0833R1
Asked by: Needahand
Yes, as long as the original cable you're replacing is a 3-prong cable like this one is with a Neutral (white), Hot (black), and Ground (green). Most window units just use a 3-prong cable like you'd see with most computer desktop cables.

6 ft. 16/3 SPT-3 Appliance Cord - Gray is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good choice if you can install the cord as prepared - no wire stripping or separation required. I had to install this cord on a kitchen hood. The separation between the hood terminal posts required me to split the wires apart. This is very difficult because the insulation is molded directly to the wires. Had to buy a second cord since I ruined the first.
