Hi Dawg in Jackson, MS.
Thank you for your question.
Yes, this sign can be attached to this type of metal post.
The most secure way to attach a metal sign to this type of post will be with rivets or a nut and bolt combination. Attach the sign on the top and on the bottom for a secure result.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I want to attach some hardware (eyebolts w/ nuts) to the post for a light load. What is the width of the holes? It will be for a small load, a running wire for my dog, so it doesn't have to be heavy duty.

Answer:
We only offer the heavy duty version in 6' and above. If you need a sturdier 5' post we recommend using a Tpost (model 901174EB).
Thanks,

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 23 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not Flimsy Strong post but hooks on some not completely punched out so it takes a bit more effort so examine posts before buying and open hooks before installation August 16, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Weak welds and cheaply made Whatever you do, do not use a hammer on these stakes except on the top. The lower wings fall off if you attempt to hammer them. Won't buy them again. July 8, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by a little on the Flimsy side, good for light duty work, not heavy duty. These posts work well for light work; i.e. Garden fencing, chicken wire, etc. - first post driven in to the soil the bottom spade cleat broke clean off as soon as it made contact with the soil. This happened on three others as well. A good metal fencing post just not heavy duty. Served its purpose. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by big steel fenceposts worked for my hack schwenker project I needed a tripod for my schwenker.... Schwenk is German for barbeque. Schwenking though has the meat swinging through an open fire so it's constantly moving which means the Schwenkmeister (me) must have not only a sturdy schwenk-tripod but also the libations and energy necessary to keep on schwenking all day. The frame for my schwenker was all cables, ubolts and these fence posts from homedepot. Despite my fellow campers strong concern that dinner would fall into the fire the the schwenker, schwenked a schwenktastic dinner of pork shoulder which took several hours of schwenking to cook. Then some fish schwenking too but that was nothing compared to the load of pork. September 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by worked as expected products are sturdy. bought to build capture fence on top of current chain link fencing. with standard wire fencing & these posts, escapes were defeated. April 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product, good value I used these to fence my garden off from the lawn and keep dogs out. Easy to drive and good hooks for fence April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy and convenient I bought these to attach to wood supports so I wouldn't need to bury the wood. So far they are holding a good amount of weight from training watermelon vines upward and not budging from where I put them. July 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sign Display for 40th Anniversary The u-channel held the sign well, was sturdy and easy to install with a sign post setter. October 7, 2014
