Compared to using a sharp utility knife that would dull on a single cut, this literally makes the job 100 times easier. The carbide tips haven't lost any bite after a hundred or so cuts so far. The longer handle allows for a lot more force than I got with the Utility Knife. About five swipes along a clamped Straight Edge and Ive been getting a pretty clean-cut.

Bought the scoring knife to cut concrete Hardi board. With enough patience, I'm sure this will eventually make a deep enough cut to snap the board like it's supposed to, however, I don't have that much time or energy. Other reviews and online videos suggested using the scoring knife method, so that's why I bought it. But an angle grinder with masonry wheel works way better and a million times faster (albeit with a significant amount of dust though).

I bought this to score lines on Hardie board and it's worked great on the first three long cuts. You'll want to score the line 3-4 times but after that the board will snap easily. If the carbide tip holds up for the next 50-60 cuts I will change rating to 5 stars. Very happy so far.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by EMTCustoms There are much better ways to cut backerboard
I used this knife one time. It did eventually cut the backerboard, but the cut was far from clean. If you want a nice clean cut, get a diamond blade for your grinder and cut through it in 1/10th the time and get a much cleaner cut. Not sure what I will use the knife for now. Maybe I can find something else to do with it other than cutting backerboard.

Multi use tool, worked great for cleaning up the cement overflow in the grout areas between the tiles before grout application

I used this product to score and cut Hari-backer. I also used it to clean the grout joints to remove excess mortar prior to grouting. This is a major plus! It is thin and strong for tight grout joints with out chipping tile but still have to be careful. I have used other products to clean 1/16" grout joints that did not hold up to the abrasive nature of the grout. This tool met the challenge and keeps a sharp edge.

Used this tool to score the backerboard for shower and floor tile upgrade. Was pleasantly surprised at how much easier it was to score the backerboard than when I used a utility knife. I laid a straightedge along the cut line, and just pulled the tool down the line. Then I repeated for six, seven or so times until it had cut through the top layer of concrete and mesh membrane. Then flipped the board over and cut down the back side of the cut with a utility knife. Cutting was faster and easier with this tool. I wasn't sure what the chisel tip was for until I screwed a board slightly overlapping another. Used the chisel tip to knock out 1/16" overlap quickly and got the panel plumb. After cutting all the boards, it's still in good shape for any future use.
