Can I get an adapter on which to screw the end of my braided supply line to this filter?

I have tried several "universal" quick connect filters, and PVC supply lines. All of them leak. The end caps can be unscrewed from the HDX version, so I was wondering if I can I get an adapter on which to screw the end of my braided supply line to this filter? The HDX Extended Life version of this filter comes with that exact compression fitting I think I would need. However, I can't fit a giant 3-inch tube between my fridge and the wall, so I need a 2-inch.

Answer:
Many filters have the fitting built-in. If the filter has threaded ends you should be able to get a "push-to-fit" adapter at HDepot or a plumbing parts supply house, or online.

Answer:
"Push to fit" inline fittings mean that one simply pushes the plastic or copper lines into the ends of the filter (after removing the protective plug, if equipped). Then apply a slight tug on the water line to be sure it is securely seated in the filter. Job complete! Filter can be installed anywhere you can cut the water line coming into the refrigerator and install the filter between the two cut ends.

I have a copper line to the refrigerator inlet valve and then a white plastic tube from the inlet valve to the ice maker. Where should I place this filter? With the quick connect fittings I would think I can just cut the plastic tube and jam the ends into either end of this. Is that correct?

Answer:
Hello, @JoeSaz! This HDX filter is a replacement for the GE model GXRTQR. We find the installation is much easier with 1/4" copper line. May I refer you to our customer service department for a walk-thru of the easiest method? Please email ProductInfo@protectplus.com or call us toll free at 866-709-2086. Thanks! - Meghan, Protect Plus, a licensed manufacturer of HDX products

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ice Maker Water Filter I originally went to get a replacement G.E. Filter that was previously purchased from Home Depot that had a quick coupler adapter. In the past each time I went for a replacement the filter had different types of connectors which became a pain to install. The G.E. Filter that is stocked did not have the quick connect capability! Had to go with I alternate that I purchased which had the quick connect. The old G.E. Filter filtered chlorine, iron, and sediment; the alternate only filtered chlorine. It would be nice if their was some consistency in what is stocked so you don't have to reconfigure your piping each time to change a simple filter. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Filters Filters and more Filters Seems like we need Filters for everything today. I've been using these filters for years, never a problem replacing the old ones and gets the job done......In this case I use this brand inside the Fridge, now I'll be using this brand as the inline filter now too. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement of old filter Connecting part failed, it leaked, no replacement available at Home Depot and sales people didn't know how to obtain new part. I was forced to buy much more expensive product if I want water system to work in my refrigerator. Not exceptable! August 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fittings not perfect This type of filter always seems to have some issue with the connection point on one or both end. I had to fortify online end with epoxy. The copper would not go in as far on that side, compared to the other. But , I'll still reccommend the product because it's no worse than others. July 26, 2016
